Re: I need a new hose for my Electrolux central vac
Do you need a new powerhead too or only the hose? If you need a new powerhead than I would recommend looking at the Imperium Pro Elite Attachment set. It is an excellent quality powerhead and hose. If you only need a new hose than you will need to contact the Aerus because they will be probably be the only company who can sell you a hose that wil be compatible with your powerhead. Their website is http://www.aerusonline.com/products/

For Electrolux; Central Vacuum Attachment Kits and Hose and Tool Kits for Electrolux Attachment ... With a clean bag in, the unit starts up and immediately shuts off. If you hold ... From what I have read hear, it sounds like the motor is going. ... How can I fixmy electrolux epic 6500 SR vacuum? ..... It keeps cutting off and on.
The best way to clear an obstruction is to blow it out by attaching the wall end to the exhaust of a shop vacuum, or using an air compressor.
You can try holding the wand end of the hose directly to the CV in port and turning the machine on. This provides essentially the same action as the previous method.
If neither of these work, try a combination of the two. Or using a shop vac, hold the wall end to the exhaust of the vacuum and the wand end to the in port of the shop vac. Turn shop vac on and the obstruction should come out.
Borrow a good strong shop vacuum if you need to.
If these methods fail, take it to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store and have the service tech try to clear it. Care must always be taken when trying to clear an obstuction with a long object, especially if it's pointed. I've seen many hoses that have shorted out and even caught fire due to the wiring accidentally being "nicked".
http://geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=113662&thid=662824 Dust....dust....dust Posted by Kitkatman on Jun 11, 2008 Hello, I recently bought a house with an older Electrolux Central Vac system. I'm unfamiliar with them, so I'm not sure how to deal with this: I cleaned up some mortar dust with it, and noticed not too long after that when I went into the garage, there was a fog of dust. The hose from the unit is venting into the garage. Is this normal? I have since used it for everyday household cleaning and each time I go back to the garage to a cloud of dust. Is there anything I can do?Thanks Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. It sounds to me that the unit you have may have to be vented outside as I am not familiar with this particular unit, or it could very well be that it is missing a filter or the filter you have inside already is shot and is in need of replacement or on some central vacs there are paper filter that go over the cloth type filter. Again, I am not familiar with this older unit but feel free to contact the Electrolux Factory or Manufacturer and give them the model # and the serial # for the unit and they will have a breakdown of if it should be vented and what type of filtration it should be using. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://electrolux.com/Customer Service1-800-896-9756 Electrolux Home Care Products – North America P.O. http://geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=113662&thid=491377 Electrolux central vacuum Posted by judiths on Apr 05, 2008 Help!It works fine until I plug in a hose and then the unit surges--kind of like its breathing. Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. It sounds to me that you may have a weak motor and when it takes on a load it starts to over load and or surge – but if the motor is still under a factory warranty then contact the vendor who installed it because if you work on a unit that is under a factory warranty then it will void the warrant. It is not the vacuum inlet because that only uses a low volt wire. So if it beyond the factory warranty then contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or cal the Electrolux factory for further information and or an owner manual on the unit giving them a model # and serial # so they can download the correct service manual for you. Your motor may be in need of service but be careful that the repair and labor does not exceed the cost of a new motor.
