There usually a button cell battery on the motherboard. Remove this and wait for system to discharge there usually somewhere you can short out to remove residual charge but without details I recommend just giving 5-10 mins. Replace battery BIOS should be reset.

SOURCE: i am forgot bios password in my lenovo g550

Hi,
Are you the one who set up the BIOS password? If not, unfortunately, there's no way for us to retrieved the password. The only way you can reset the password to default settings is to reseat the CMOS battery on the motherboard, its a circular thing that looks like a battery of a watch, sometimes a pin hold it, just detached it then wait for at least 30 minutes then connect it back again,
Note: Before you reseat the CMOS battery, make sure that everything is unplugged on the computer, like AC adapter, battery and all external devices...
Hope this will help...Your response is very much appreciated...

User passwords:
Power on
BIOS execution can be controlled by a Power On Password. This password is set in the BIOS Configuration screen, accessed by pressing the F1 key after pressing the power on switch to turn on the PC. If the person at the keyboard does not know the Power On Password, then BIOS execution halts.

Hard drive
The hard drive is controlled by the Hard Drive Password. After the Power On Password is entered, the person at the keyboard must be able to enter the Hard Drive Password, otherwise the disk drive will not spin up for use. Like the Power On Password, the Hard Drive Password is set in the BIOS configuration screen.

Administrative passwords:
Each of the two user passwords can be controlled by a Master or administrative password. If the administrative password is not set, then anyone who knows the user password can change it in the BIOS configuration screen. If the administration password is set, then it is impossible to reset the user password unless you know the administrative password. The Supervisor Password is the administrative password for the Power On Password. The Master Hard Drive Password controls the Hard Drive Password.

Password Recovery is a feature of Client Security Solution 6.0. This makes it possible for an end user to recover from the problem of "I forgot my Power On Password or Hard Drive Password."

(Fn) key function

Hi,

Fn or Function key is used for your F1 up to F12 keys. Ex. Fn+F5 is to turn on the wireless capability. Fn key is like a shortcut for the functionality of the machine. You can also adjust brightness by pressing Fn+Up or Down arrow and for the Volume Fn+Left and Right arrow.

Hi darthz,

I see that you are having issues with your Wireless and Blue tooth not turning ON.

Basing on your query you mention that you tried FN+F5 and the Physical switch and it will not turn ON the Wireless card and your Bluetooth device on the Laptop.

In this case there is no other way but to call Lenovo and have the machine sent back to Depot repairs on this case since the issue will be the Hardware and may need replacing in the Depot warehouse which is in Grapevine TX, it will take 5-7 Busienes days for the repeiars, and I am assuming that your system is still in warranty since you have a Z360 Laptop. call Lenovo
877-456-6686 you will be asked for a Serial number your Full Name Contact # and E-mail for registration on the issue.

I hope that this will be helpful since there is no way on fixing your concern over the Internet. Have a nice day.

Password bios lenovo y510

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your Lenovo laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper and I wouldn't recommend doing it especially if it's under warranty.
