Rinse aid light

I have a Indesit IDL700.2 and everyday we have to refill the rinse aid, this shouldn't be happening, also the cups are coming out with stains still even after re filling. The dishwasher is only just under 4 years old. Does it need someone to come out and look at it?

It's set at 4 however, is that because of the hard water?

First check in the dispenser is a knob that has an arrow on it see where this points it should only have to be set on one or two normally any higher and you will use more rinse aid if it is on one or two then get a tech to check it it may need to be replaced

With the rinse aid set at 4 it will use more rinse aid than is needed set it a 2 and give it a bash as for the hard water rinse aid is there to assist in the rinse and drying of the dishes, the hard water if you have in fact got hard water problems is usually sorted out by adding sea salt/salt blocks to the salt dispensor usually sorts out hard water problems.Hope this is of assistance to you.

At the end of cycle I find soap suds, a lot, in bottom of machine have tried cycling vegetable oil, still have some suds left

Run the machine empty with a bar of everyday soap (not sure what you have stateside but in the uk it would be something like LUX or SHIELD the solid block type). This should kill the suds already in the machine. If the d/w is creating a lot of suds, it could be because you soaked an item in regular hand wash liquid and didn't rinse it well enough before finishing it in the d/w or the rinse aid is set too high or not dosed correctly. If you had just filled the rinse aid then you may have just been a little heavy handed and allow excess into the machine. When you refill rinse aid and salt it is best to run the shortest wash to clear any residue spilled. Hope this helps

Where is the rinse aid dispenser on a maytag performa?

Hello Chris.

The rinse aid dispenser is usually in the door right next to the soap cup, usually it has a round cap that you unscrew to refill. For me to be more specific reply with your model number as found on a label on the rim around the door and i will look up your exact model.

Our dishes have a white film on them. The "Refill RInse Aid" light is always on. Does that have anything to do with the problem? How do you solve it?

Most likely YES! The rinse aid helps the water to be completely removed and with the water goes the suds, debris, etc. A rinse aid has a sheeting action to effectively remove the water. There are several different brands of rinse aids. Jet Dry is the one that comes immediately to mind.Usually the refill area for the rinse aid is adjacent to the soap dispenser. Your manual will tell you how to add the rinse aid.
Once it's been added, your problem should disappear.I hope this helps. If it does, please return to fixya and rate my answer!

Indesit D63 dishwasher dishes not getting clean

check that the arms top and bottom turn freely and are not blocked.also if you use tablets, then you do not need to use rinse aid in the door, the coating could be due to over rinse aid as the tablets have this in,if these are ok you may benifit from putting a good quality cleaner through if

Cannot unscrew cap on rinse aid compartment in door of Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner III

the cap doesn't come off, you just have to open the door all the way. then, when you pour the rinse aid into the dial area, it will get sucked into the dispenser. but if the door isn't open all the way it won't go anywhere and will overflow on you.

Dawn detergent in rinse aid dispensor

I did the same. I have run the washer several times but with the rinse aid cup open. Then flushed it by adding water and using a turkey baster to **** the water out. Then used a small amount of liquid fabric softner to reduce the suds. Then flushed it several more times with clear water. The turkey baster will fit into the cup better if you can remove the inside cup cover that dials the amount of dispensing (at least in my brand of dishwasher). I also forced paper towels into the cup opening several times to sop up as much liquid as possible until the indicater light for rinse aid showed empty.  This took some time but by the end of the day, the suds diminished.  Note: I no longer keep Dawn under the sink cabinet where the rinse aid is kept!
