Question about Health & Beauty
I believe that this is the same as the US version of the Drive Phoenix scooter. If so, here's a link to the troubleshooting guide which you will need a multimeter to check. An 8-flash on the Phoenix indicates that there is a probable motor fault, which isn't good news at all. This is a small scooter, and the motors are not designed for heavy loads, or long climbs up steep hills. Other problems arise when folks drive their scooter through mud or other unstable surfaces and they get stuck. This can burn out the motor as well. More on the Phoenix here.

An 8-flash code indicates that the controller has shot craps. The controller is located under the shroud beneath the seat by the batteries and it controls all of the power and automatic functions of the scooter. They are damaged most often by water infiltration like running through deep puddles, etc. or by over-amping the scooter by driving it through unstable terrain like sand, mud, wet grass. There's no fix for it but a replacement and it's pricey...several hundred dollars.

Hi. 8 flashes is a fault code for a motor fault. It will be either worn brushes in the motor or faulty connectors to the motor. This fault code means that there is no circuit through the motor. Probably time to overhaul the motor. Most mobility scooters have plugs and sockets that are really to small to carry the amount of current that they do. Because of this, they sometimes fail.Good luck. Neil.

Hi. Does the light flash a few times and then pause, and then repeat the flashing ? Count the flashes, it is a fault code. Do you have the fast/slow switch in slow? It might be a speed control fault. How old are the batteries? Might have a faulty motor. Faulty motor or battery leads and connectors. Go for a ride and then check if any of the plugs and sockets feel hot.

Plamont unfortunately that flash code usually means a controller error. The controller is the brains of your scooter. Take the seat off and remove the rear shroud that covers the batteries and motor/gearbox assembly. Check all the wiring connectors for damage or loose connections. After checking the connectors turn the scooter on and see if you still get 8 flashes.
Did Medicare purchase the scooter? If so they will pay for most of the repair costs. You can contact your provider that sold you the scooter or a repair service Repair Xpress@ 1-877-581-3733 or Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668 Hope this helps you
