Replacing thermostat: tstatccshp01 with th8320u1008

I'm trying to replace a Carrier thermostat tstatccshp01 with the Honeywell thermostat th8320u1008. The carrier has six wires: Y, C, R, G, W & O. None of the wiring diagrams included with the Honeywell install guide match this combo. My system is a heat pump/air condition model 38EYG. The Honeywell thermostat provides the following connections: Y2, L, E, AUX, S1, S2, RC & R (jumper connected), O/B, Y, G & C. If I connect Y to Y, C to C, R to RC & R (jumper connected), G to G then I am left with O & W from the carrier. Which Honeywell terminals would I connect these two wires to? Any help would be really appreciated!

Hook up o to o/b, then in the installation programming set the change over valve to energize in cool. Then hook up w to aux. Good luck.

Is there a battery in the t8000c thermostat the screen is blank

There should be a couple of AAA batts in it. Grab all 4 corners and pull straight out & off the mounting plate. If no batteries are installed it is hard wired & the problem is at the air handler(blown blade fuse or open transformer winding). When you reinstall batteries make sure there is no corrosion. And careful when you put the tstat back onto the base. There are some small pins that need to align with its holes/terminals. Honeywell has a great 1-800 support #. Should be on the tstat.

Carrier OEM to Honeywell Programmable Tstat - NEED HELP

you likely have a "two stage" system, but not a two stage heat pump. the first stage is probably the heat pump itself, and the second stage is the auxilliary resistance heat that suppliments the heat pump at lower temps. if i knew the terminals that are available on the new stat, i could advise you on the proper wiring.

I have a Carrier Weathermaker SX HVAC unit with a Honeywell thermostat. Even if the thermostat is turned "off", my fan keeps blowing!

Hello, usually this is a sign of a bad blower relay on the intergrated control board. The only option is to replace the control board.

Tried to replace my carrier thermostat with a Honeywell and screwed up the wiring sequence. Now trying to rehook the old carrier and can't get it to work. Help!!

Here is the normal way of wiring a thermostat:

Y=yellow (cooling)
G=green (fan)
R=hot (red)
W=white (heat)
C=blue or black (common) only on some thermostats

If you have a heat pump: o=orange (reversing valve)

Some thermostats have "rc" and "rh". These terminals must be jumpered together or the thermostat will not work. Hope this helps you.

Manual Thermostat replcaement with Programmable Digital unit.

Hopefully there are markings on the old t-stat as to what terminal is what.
on the honeywell 8000 use the heat pump labeling and then the standard wiring would be
R- red
AUX-white
Y- yellow
B- O/B
C- black
G- green
There should not be a bare wire, it probably just has the insulation stripped back way too far.
You should probably open the furnace and compare the terminal label in the furnace to the wire color. normally yellow and blue pass through the furnace and are wire nutted to wires going to the outdoor unit. In the furnace the white wire will connect to the w or w1 terminal. also, you will need to set the Honeywell stat to have the following parameters.
170-7
190-1
200-0
other parameters that I did not specify, you may read the manual and make your own decision but I recommend factory settings for the other parameters

Replace Carrier tstatccshp01 builders standard thermostat with Honeywell rth7500 series and wiring not matching Does O wire go to Aux..? fan working but no cool air.

No... Aux. is auxiliary heat strip. This is usually a white or black wire its up to the choice of the installers preferance. O or orange wire. is used to the reversing valve on a heat pump. If you do have a heat pump there is a programing section inside the Honeywell t-stat. which should say heat pump or straight cool, then another section that will ask if you want the reversing valve to energize in heat or cool. most Heat Pump brands energize in cool the exception is Rheem and Ruud they energize in heat.
