Question about Canon imageRUNNER 8500 Copier

Aopying/printing gets lighter as you keep printing

We are printing very less matter on a sheet. The toner supply is proper the developing unit is fully filled with toner yet the print becomes lighter. This happens after running about 50,000 prints. You have to remove the toner and from the developing unit empty the unit and put it in the cartridge above the system runs just fine for another 50,000 prints and again it has the same problem i.e the copy/print begins to fade. Since our printing area is very little the cartridge that is 1.65 kg gives us approx. 20,00,00 prints of A/4 size.

Why is my printer only printing a black sheet of paper?

Hi it is not the toner but it could be a developing unit or transfer roller.
But since on b6500 the developer unit is changed with the toner it is probably the transfer roler or HV unit.

C390

[C390] Auto-toner sensor-C abnormality (Cyan)
<Color toner low density>
When you check the printing status to find out that the color printing ratio isless than 5%, color toner low density might be the cause.
Turn the code 08-2692 "Prevention of color toner low density / ON/OFF setting" to ON, and then set number of sheets to be judged at the code 08-2693 "Prevention of color toner low density / Judged number of sheets setting".

If the color printing ratio is 5% or more, check the following.
(1) Is the developer unit installed properly?
(2) Check if the connector CN340 on the LGC board isdisconnected from the auto toner sensor or the harnesses are open circuited. Correct if necessary.
(3) Check if there is any foreign matter such as toner in the drawer connector of the equipment and fuser unit or the connector of the auto toner sensor. Remove if there is and reconnect it.
(4) Service or replace the auto-toner sensor.

Toner problem

From the symptoms that you described, the problem lies with your imaging unit, specifically the developer blades are blocked with toner deposits. It is a common problem with this printer. It can be fixed by two ways. The first and most expensive is to buy a new imaging unit at your local office supply store for $100+. It will fix it until the toner deposits build up again and starts to fade the output.

The second way, is to open the imaging unit and clean the developer blades of the toner deposits. I have written a detailed instructions so you can do the work yourself and save yourself some money. The instructions are posted here. http://www.fixya.com/support/r4120906-clean_developer_blades_samsung_clp_300

Hopes this helps you.

Our Laser printer doesn't print on the left had side of the paper--well, very faint--the right side is just fine. I just replaced the cartridge. What is the problem?

If your printer prints like this:
657b300.jpg with the any color printing faintly down the page, then the problem is with the developer blades in the imaging unit. What happens is there are metal blades that meter the amount of toner that gets put on to the drum that makes the image on the paper. The toner is made up of fine particules of plastic. As the printer prints, some of this toner collects on the edge of the developer blades causing less and less toner to make it onto the page making the print look faint.

To correct this problem, you either need to buy a new imaging unit or clean the developer blades. There is a document on the internet that gives a detail instructions on how to do this, but, the link no longer works. I have a copy of this document, I will try to post it if people are interested.

HI, I have a clp-300 and it is printing black only on the right side, but the left is completely washed out. it works fine when I use a color other than black

If you the image is faded and your toner supply is good, the problem is the developer blades in the imaging unit. During the normal use of the printer, there is a buildup of toner that sticks on the developer blade. The developer blade meters the amount of toner that gets to the drum that ultimately makes it to the paper. As the toner buildup increases on the blade, less and less toner that gets to the drum cause the image to fade.

To fix this problem you will need to disassemble the imaging unit and clean the blades or buy a new imaging unit. I have clean my blades and I have a document to show you if you are handy.

Color problem!

If you the image is faded and your toner supply is good, the problem is the developer blades in the imaging unit. It sounds like the magenta blade needs to be cleaned. The developer blade meters the amount of toner that gets to the drum that ultimately makes it to the paper. As the toner buildup increases on the blade, less and less toner that gets to the drum cause the image to fade.
