You have to tie a necktie. but I heard that there are some ties you can buy that you can just put over your neck. however you should know it does not look the same as a nice tied tie

Some people will put on a necktie, and have somebody else tie it. When they're done wearing it, they just loosen it enough to slip it over their head. Next time they want to wear it, they slip it back over their head, and tighten it again. it has the 'look' of a tied tie, but only was tied once!

Either, although a real knot is preferable and looks better

There are two type of ties available in the market i.e one on which you have to tie the knots and second, which are already pre-tied..so it depends which one you like to wear and generally they are custom made ties which you can made from a Brand in ties like TiesnSuch, they offer custom made ties services for their customers.

There are neckties (with 'fake' knots) that you can simply clip onto and off of the top of the shirt, where the right and left ends of the collar meet. But most people can spot a clip on tie and tend to 'look down' on them, so IMHO, a 'real' knot is preferred.

BUT, you can also tie a 'real' knot on a regular necktie, and when you're done wearing it you can partially remove the skinny or hidden part of the tie by pulling it through the knot so that you can remove the tie by pulling it over your head! To wear it again, slip it past the top of your head, down to the shirt's collar. Then pull on the skinny or hidden part of the tie (after placing it under your collar), making the loop that went around your head smaller until it is the right size!
