I have a Mirage Omni S8 subwoofer that is approximately 2 yrs old. It has been working great until it started buzzing in the on position whether the stereo is on or not.

Disconnect all inputs. If it still buzzes there's probably a broken ground somewhere inside it. Technical know-how necessary to proceed.

Otherwise, the buzz originates externally and leaks in through the cabling.

My speakers are buzzing.

Passive speakers don't buzz in the absence of a signal that makes them buzz. Look for a single source doing it, specific cabling loose, power cords near signal wires.

Buzzing/hum website say it's a ground loop or amp issue. Whats the difference and how can I easily fix it?

Hello, the most common solution is to simply replace the subwoofer cable itself. the ground on this cable is the outside of the connector and not the pin in the center and they do fail. You can use any rca cable as a quick test to confirm if the cable is at fault.

I have a constant buzz tone coming from my subwoofer. I checked power connection, fuse and volume/crossover settings and nothing makes the tone go away. is there anything else I can do? Is it repairable?

Hello,if your subwoofer cable has gone bad this will introduce a hum(buzz) into your audio.I suggest replacing the subwoofer cable, a standard rca cable will do,and see if the audio cleans up.

Iassume you mean you hear the buzz independently of the audio program - simply connecting the cable causes the buzz?

If tanything in the mix is powered from different AC sources you may have a different ground potential. Sometimes manipulating the orientation of one or more ac plugs will solve hum problems.

It probably buzzes all the time, you just notice it when it is outputting little volume. Check the cables for loose connections or replace them with other cable as a test.
