Retractable function selector knob stuck

We have a fitted Bosch oven with retractable function selector. When cleaning the outside of the oven, the knob was pushed in and now we don't seem to be able to get it to come out again. It seems well and truly stuck!

Guruproblem is caused by the sprung mechanism within the control knob sticking remove the knob completly, try to squeeze together in your hand to release and then spray with a wd40 type product, if this fails you will need to replace the knob, the knob only pulls off.
