I am assuming that your microwave turns on and everything and that when you press the start button the table turns and all. This tells me at least that all the switches on the door are working properly and since your fuse is not blown you have power to your control panel. That being the case the magnetron (the part that does the cooking) is bad and needs to be replaced. If you are a do it yourselfer and can find the magnetron through a local supply house or the internet, replacing it is pretty straightforward. Unplug the microwave and take the cover off just a handful of screws. On the control panel side and behind and on top you will see the magnetron with cooling fins on it. The magnetron is usually held in place with three to four screws and has about 3 to four wires coming from it and going to a couple of places. These have terminals on them that unplug and there is no soldering or desoldering to do. Unplug the wires and be sure to make a small diagram as to which one goes where. Get a new magnetron and replace it. Put the cover on and you are back in business. God bless.

probably fryed the magnetron, with something like foil or metallic, try unplugging it for 12 hours maybe it will reset if not throw it out

Microwave stopped heating

You likely need a new magnetron While the cabinet is open look for melted wires, fuse, burned traces on the circuit board, continuity on thermal cufoffs. If the fuse went then the capacitor needs replacing. Relays on microwaves stick sometimes and may need a firm hit or replacement. Check the continuity of the door switches (keep the resistance below .2 ohm or replace them too.

Ge profile spacemaker xl 1800. recently changed a

It sounds like the main transformer has failed. It would be cheaper to replace the whole microwave than repair this one. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Hope this helps. Good luck.

My ge microwave spacemaker 1800 won't heat my food pls help

HI. in most cases, this will lead to a failed Heating device(magnetron tube). It would be wise to check the Magnetron cutoff fuse to be sure of its integrity. if the fuse is blown, simply replace it. if the fuse continues to show continuity, replace the magnetron.

(((The fuse is located inside the unit along side the magnetron, near the blower housing.)))

My GE Spacemaker 1800 microwave looks and sounds as if it's heating, but no heat is generated when turned on. Is it repairable, and if so, how?

Blows the 20amp fuse when the heat is turned on

It has a short. Its likely the power $5 power diode.

It has to be checked first if its good then the mag tube may be bad.

Its likely the diode. You can test it by removing it and using a ohm meter to test it. Voltage should only flow 1 way if it flows both ways its shorted.
