CPU is On but Cable not connected error

Oh? Did this just happen?

Or are you installing this motherboard for the first time?

Will help to know, because you may not have the necessary needed, power cables plugged in,
OR;
One or more of them may be loose.

I also see that English is not your native language. I apologize that English is all I know, in advance. If you see something printed here you do not fully understand, post back in a Comment.
We will work it out.

Click on the blue arrow to the right of the box.
In the drop down list click on - Manual

Power cables to motherboard;
1) 24-pin ATX main power cable,

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#atxmain24

2) 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable,

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#atx12v4

Notice how both power cable connectors have a LOCK on the side?
Look at the photo in the middle for both power cable links, above.

The connector on the motherboard has a TAB, that the Lock goes over.
Hooked end of Lock, goes over Tab on female motherboard connector.

When the hooked end of the Lock is over the Tab, on the motherboard connector, you KNOW the power cable is plugged in tightly.

If not, there is your problem.

Do you have the SATA power cable plugged into the Harddrive, tightly?

Do you have the SATA data cable plugged in tightly to the motherboard, AND to the Harddrive?

CPU = Central Processing Unit. Another term used is Microprocessor, or simply Processor for short.

Does NOT mean personal computer.

CPU is on? You mean the Power Supply's fan is running, and computer case fans, and Processor fan.
Does not mean the Processor is on.

Why?

Primer:
You press the Power On button. This plastic assembly pushes against a Power On switch,

http://www.axiontech.com/prdt.php?item=78201

The Power On switch is a Momentary Contact Switch.
It closes very briefly, which in turn briefly completes a circuit.
The Soft Power On circuit.

The Power Supply always has a constant 5 Volts present, when it is plugged into power. A 5 Volt reserve power, called the 5 Volt Standby power.

Closing the Power On switch briefly provides a Ground, and completes the Soft Power On circuit.
The Soft Power On circuit excites the Power Supply, and turns it on.

The first chipset to receive power is the BIOS chipset.
The Basic Input/Output System program, on the BIOS chipset, is initialized. (BIOS program)

BIOS looks to see what devices are connected, does a Ram Memory count, TURNS the Processor on, and hands the computer over to the Operating System.
(Windows XP, and Windows 7, are two examples of an O/S)

You are getting a 'Cable not connected' error message, which means BIOS hasn't turned the Processor on.

Is the 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable plugged in, and tightly? It's power for the Processor.

Post back in a Comment.

What power supply do I need for the Gigabyte GA-MA790GPT-UD3H Motherboard. I will be using an UPS to keep power on for 10 minutes if the mains fails.

At an average PC with 17"CRT Monitor consumes 200-350 Watt. Allied peripherals and accessories etc. add to the overall power consumption. Hence, it is alway better to keep a buffer while estimating power consumption. So, It is recommended that UPS of atleast 500W may be used. (UPS of higher Power Output /Wattage would allow to keep up some other devices as well in case of power failure)

Also, CPU Power Supply (Internal) generally should be 350-450 watts.

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.
Hope it helps! Good Luck!
