but, I don't have enough information and without an Amp meter... Here goes;
Is your extension cord getting the least bit warm?
Try a #12AGW 15 foot extension cord, look at the AGW (Wire thickness) and distance Plug to power Box.
There is an important item
missing in the Manual
1) How much current draw,
At 50 feet?
Lots of Power factors to think about with Electric motor driven compressors;
For a 2hp electric Motor ya need
1500watts of power
Watts law and OHMS law states; 1500W/120V=12.5Amps plus the Starter circuit Amperage (what ever that is) is way more for a compressor, well over 20amps all added up, by the time you reach the end of your 50 foot #18AGW extension cord Plus the distance to your Power Box; all adds up resistance/OHMs which lowers the Voltage which increases the Amperage as your extension cord gets HOTTER.
Breakers are made to take some time to heat up and then trip.
A buzzing followed by a breaker tripping shortly after usually indicates a siezed or shorted blower motor or its capacitor faulty if on indoor section, If from outdoor section could be fan motor or its cap bad, compressor or its start components faulty.
