Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

When I leave my computer for more than 5 minutes, the monitor turns black and I am unable to access my data. I have to use the power button to shut down and start all over again.

Just change the power settings to never turn your monitor off or never put your pc to sleep when idle.

For Windows 7:

Click on Start.

Go to Control Panel.

Go to Power Options.

Click on Change Plan Settings.

Make sure both Turn off the display and Put the computer to sleep is set to never.

Click on Save Changes.

Restart your pc.

The steps should be similar for Windows Vista and Windows XP.

I changed the screen resolution from 1024 768. while booting the monitor goes to power saver mode and displays "Out of Range 53.7KHZ to 60Hz. My OS is Win XP sp 3,

If the monitor is able to display the video after the computer boots, it may be something that you will have to live with.

But, you may be able to specify a different refresh rate based on the ability of your video card. Right click on the desktop, choose properties, then settings, and advanced button. On the new window, click on Adapter, then click on the Display All Modes button. The default for 1024x768 resolution is 60Hz, but your video card may offer another frequency which may be compatible with the monitor.

If you are unable to see anything after the computer boots, restart in safemode, then make the changes.

Is this an older monitor? 1024x768 is an industry default mode / setting. I am surprised that the monitor doesn't like it.
