How do I change the name display on a ESI 48 key feature phone?

You would have to log into the system by pressing the program button, the hold button and then the installer password followed by the # key. Then press options 3,1 and put in the extension you want to rename. Then of course rename it and press #. you can then hang up.

Lost installer password for esi ivx e-class phone system?

If you own the system you can call ESI at (800) 491-3609 and they can get in through a phone line and reset the password. You will have to give them the serial number on the side of the cabinet and then sign a form giving them authorization to reset the password. they will probably ask you who your re-seller is and want to contact them. If you have one then you should be calling them and asking for the password. if you don't, then tell ESI you don't.

Reset ESI 2833 until red light turned green. Network Printer still not responding

Check the IP Address of the 2833. I believe there is a gray button you can depress to print out a configuration sheet. If the wireless modem was also your router, you may have a different IP address range and will need to set the 2833 accordingly.

My network HP laserjet 4Vprinter and ESI 2830 pocket print server suddenly gives an error message "No RARP/BootP Server". How can I fix this?

the information in the link is too long to paste but you may want to look at it.

HP Jetdirect and Embedded Jetdirect Inside Print Servers - TCP/IP, Messages on Configuration Page or Self-Test Page

Get the IP address subnet and gateway address of a computer in the same network.

Usingthe LJ5's control panel, setup a static IP for the Jet Direct using thenumbers you got from the Laptop, except change the last number of theIP to one that is not being currently being used. Perhaps adding 5 or10 to the highest number in use.
Here are the steps to configure the LJ5.

1.Press MENU, repeatedly, until the following message appears on thecontrol panel: HP LaserJet 5/5n/5m and the original Color LaserJet: HPMIO MENU
2. Press ITEM. CFG NETWORK=NO* will appear.
3. Press the PLUS button once. CFG NETWORK=YES* will appear.
4. Press ENTER or SELECT.
5. Press ITEM repeatedly until CFG TCP/IP=NO* appears.
6. Press the PLUS button. CFG TCP/IP=YES* will appear.
7. Press ENTER or SELECT.
8. Press ITEM until BOOTP=YES* appears.
9. Press the PLUS button. BOOTP=NO will appear.
o When using BootP or DHCP, keep the setting BOOTP=YES*.
o The BootP or DHCP server will configure the TCP/IP parameters on the HP Jetdirect.
o No other TCP/IP configuring is necessary.
10. Press ENTER or SELECT.
11. Press ITEM. IP BYTE 1 = (value) will appear.
12.Press the PLUS button until the value of the first byte of the IPaddress appears on the control-panel display. By pressing SHIFT and thePLUS button, the value will decrease.
13. Press ENTER or SELECT.
14. Press ITEM to continue. Repeat Steps 11-13 to configure the remaining bytes of the IP address.
15.Repeat Steps 11-13 to configure the subnet mask bytes (SM BYTE 1=),syslog server IP address (LG BYTE 1=), default gateway (GW BYTE 1=),and timeout (TIMEOUT=).
16. Press ONLINE. Print a self-test page to verify the IP settings.
17. If the test page does not show the correct settings, power cycle the printer and reprint the test page.

else: have the printserver reinstalled

Can't find printserver on the network

Most Print Servers are by default on DHCP and if the PS is still on its factory defaults, it won't get an IP address because your computer won't have a DHCP server (unless u have set up one). Now, you can ask the person you got it from if he had ever assigned a static IP Address to the PS. Also, one of the reasons why your laptop won't detect the PS might be a software firewall installed. Please revert back with any other questions or observations. good luck
