Question about Epson Stylus Pro 4000 InkJet Printer
My 4000P printer will print fine for several sheets then say 'paper jam' or 'remove paper' when there is no paper loaded...reset roll feed paper will sometimes turn off warning but usually have to turn off/on
As well as ware and tear, reinstalling the printers driver and software can reset the printer back to defaults and can sometimes resolve the problem, check that the printer cables are in good condition and seated well also
Good luck and kind regards

That happens when the traction wheel are not applying enough pressure on the paper, because the spring that hold them down is weared.
The paper slippers a bit, losin 1 or two mms each page loaded. After few pages the sheet get loaded on top of previous one and jams.
The only fix to this is having the machine taken apart and fixed by a technician.

If the paper jams, do
1. Gently pull any jammed paper out from the output
tray or sheet feeder.
2. To eject the jammed paper, try turning the Epson
Stylus NX400 off and then back on.
If that doesn't work and paper is stuck inside, turn off the Epson Stylus NX400. Open the scanner, remove the jammed paper and torn pieces, close the scanner, and turn the Epson Stylus NX400 back on.

Carefully remove the jammed photo paper. Gently pull the paper up and out of the paper feeder tray.
Reload the paper into the tray. Stack the paper on a flat surface and then carefully slide the paper stack straight into the paper feeder tray---along and aligned with the right side of the tray. Secure the stack in place by sliding the left "edge guide" against the paper stack.
Press the "OK" button to resume printing. If you had a "Paper is jammed in the printer..." error message displayed on the control panel LCD, pressing "OK" should also clear the message.
Pull the paper from the printer, if the status message reappears and/or the printer doesn't print, and check the paper for folds, buckling and curled edges or corners. Also check the sheets for sticking. If any of your sheets stick or have damage, remove them from your photo paper stack and replace with new sheets. Reload the paper and press "OK" to try again.
