Re: Water overflowing out of dishwasher
I see you do not give a make and model so a few possibilties here .Chances are that something has gotton stuck in the drain pump stopping the impellar from turning I suggest you get a technition in to look unless you are technical yourself, worst case being the drain pump itself is broken in wich case replace it (NB If your machine has a timer the timer may also be fualty)

I would suggest replacing the water valve in the unit, Part number needed would be 8801351.
I am not sure where you live to direct you to a parts warehouse to obtain this part. Unless you know when the unit came from so you can order this part you need, I have a number of 1-866-223-5549 to my distributor I get my parts from.
It is possible that there is a block in the drain hose which prevents water from previous wash to fully empty.
This means when you start dishwasher next time it overflows and causes the dishwasher flood switch to trip and shut dishwasher.
You will need to check the drain hose for any blockages and clear it.
The dishwasher overflow detection may have triggered. This causes the drain pump to operate.
The overflow float is located at the base of the diswasher and maybe faulty. It is spring loaded float and should move down and up when pressed. If you cannot find this in your model, then water has leaked into the overflow cavity where the motors are located. This could also trigger the overflow protection circuit.
You have to replace the overflow float if it exists or empty the overflow water in the overflow cavity and dry it out. If leak is taking place then the gasket needs replacement.
Hope you are able to fix the problem with some of the suggestions I have made.

I have had this problem a few times. For me all I had to do was unscrew the vent/overshow knob on the sink and clean out the vent. Because the vent is clogged, it does not allow the water to flow out. Clean out the debri and screw the vent cap back on- should work fine.
Simple solution. DO NOT spend the money on a tech coming to the house.
This error code comes from getting too much water in your machine, either from a dish filled with water emptying, or perhaps a clog from the sink that prevents your machine from draining. It is meant to prevent overflows from too much water being in the tub. It is a simple fix though!
First of all you should at least shut the power off on your machine. For the effort of a couple of more steps, it wouldn't hurt to shut the breaker off at the fuse panel. You will have to unscrew the undercounter tabs that mount the dishwasher to the countertop. They are located just under the counter sticking out from the top of the dishwasher when the door is open. Then proceed to pull out the dishwasher from under the counter. You will only have to pull it out about half way and you will find the overflow valve. It is located on the right side of the dishwasher just under the insulation and level with the lower hinge on the door. (Right side when you are looking at the machine.)
There are two overflow valves. One looks like a small cup, the other looks like a cylinder with a float in it like your toilet. Both of them have black rubber covers near the bottom. Take these covers off and about a quarter cup of water will flow out of these overflow basins. Allow them to completely empty, then replace the rubber drain covers and then replace the unit under the counter.
Once you turn the power on, the error code should be cleared and you are ready to use the dishwasher again.
