It should switch automatically to AC adaptor when it is plugged in, but it does not.

Then there is something wrong with the computer. The pins that connect to the a.c. port may not be in contact any more. Or the adapter itself may not be good anymore. Can you test the adapter or try another one?

What do you mean battery service to plug-in service. Whenever the laptop has the adapter plugged in and it is plugged into the wall you are running on the power coming from the wall.

I forget my bios paswordof my wipro laptop

This is a somewhat easy fix, but it'll come down to how handy you are with electronics. If you're not, take it into a service shop and tell them what I say below.
First, make sure the laptop is not plugged in and the battery is out. No power at all!
Basically you just need to remove the battery that is inside the laptop's motherboard. It's like a large watch battery, about the size of a nickel and will pop out relatively easy. Once it's taken out, it will reset the bios to it's default settings.
So: take it out, wait for 15 minutes just to be sure, and then put it back in. Put the larger laptop battery in and boot up.

Hello i have the problem that my laptop battery is showing that "31% available ( plugged in, not charging) . but when i remove my ac adopter from my laptop it suddernly switch off . what is the...

Try this:
  • Turn the computer off
  • Unplug the computer
  • Remove the battery
  • Plug in the power cord
  • Power on the computer
If it powers up, you have a battery problem; It is either the battery or the charging circuit. Replacing the battery is easy and not too expensive. Fixing the charging circuit on a laptop is not economical.

Hope this helps. I do this for fun & 4 thumb feedback, not $$$

I got a dell latitde d505 wont power on or anthing no blinking lights no noises. i plug it into the charger n the charger light goes off. can some1 please help me??

Sounds like you may have fried your dell latitude. I have seen many laptop's fry and it is nothing you did, but they just go sometimes.

Recomendaitons:
Take the battery out of the laptop.
Plug the charger in.
Hold the power button for a minimum 10 secs (which will reset the power options)
If there are still no lights than it is your cpu
If the computer turns on then you have a bad battery.

When batteries are bad or dead, the computer tries to run off of the battery befor the charger, it switches over to the charger after your OS has booted. In that case you can just order a new one no big deal, but if your cpu is fried then there is no hope for the laptop. :( I have lost four laptops because of this, so for your sake I hope its the battery or the GND Drain.

Also possible that the GND's drain on your board is too short and Gate 4 is driving low. To fix this you have to remove a SMT ceramic cap, which is located opposite side to the power connector, almost under it. I would guess at 1206 or slightly larger and there is an 0402 cap just next to its bottom pad at 90 degrees to it. A couple of Dell Latitude d505 have had this problem and can easily be fixed, but must be cautious and know what you are doing. I would advise seeing a professional.

Please don't forget to rate :), Thanks!

My laptop doesn't open when i try to push the on button..help?

it is basically a hardware problem since your hardware(laptop) didn't respond when you turn it on. Are you running on battery mode or AC mode? if you're on battery mode try to check your battery it may be fully drained. Try to switch to AC mode by plugging into your AC adaptor/battery charger and see if it works.

Regards!

Charger to computer connection intermittent

Check your power options they may be set up to drain your battery instead of conserving it. click start>control panel>power options. In power schemes make sure its laptop/Note and set to a level to conserve as much power as possible while on battery. Always use Hibernate when leaving the computer for a while none of your data will be lost. Click the hiberate tab to enable hiberation. As for as the pugin goes its attached to the motherboard. So it would be best to have a PC repair shop fix it for you. Hope this helps.
