Below is the link to the Lexmark page, where you can download the service manual. Also, you might consider installing the latest drivers and updates. Remember to read the manufacturer's guide. Good luck. support lexmark com
Perhaps the Lexmark X3470 User's Guide will be able to help you. Download using this link: http://bit.ly/cSUqq8, Scroll to Page 45 for the instructions. Make sure to install the Lexmark scan software, using the installation disk, in your computer before scanning. If you lost the disk, I suggest you contact Lexmark technical support to request for it. Thanks.

I've seen this before. The X64X series with this inverted display seems to work fine (printing,scanning,faxing..) the reason for this is still unknown. But I've got it fixed twice by resetting the NVRAM on this MFP. If you are unsure of how to reset NVRAM, please follow the instructions below:
1.Power off the MFP 2. Hold down the 6, 7 and 8 buttons down and turn the MFP On. 3. Please hold down the buttons till it reads resetting factory defaults and then release the buttons. The MFP should now come back to ready status.
Please check out if this solves the issue, If not the machine would need a hardware service.
