Roady XT Transmitter problem

This morning I found that the station I was using on my FM receiver was taken over by a Canadian Station and it knocked out my XM signal. I tried to select another FM station and when I select menu the FM Transmitter selection no longer appears. Anyone know how I can get it back so I can reset to another open station?

I have the same problem. I just bought the Roady XT and the "FM Frequency" option showed up once and now I can get that selection off Menu any more. I've tried 6 times in my car to no avail. Please help.

brand new roady xt. menu button does not produce FM Frequency as a menu option though the user manual clearly describes the method for choosing an fm station as going to menu and choosing FM Frequency then choosing fm station by moving arrows up or down

Mine is doing the same as well. Been working for 1 year. Now it starts cutting out while listening. I noticed if it is broadcasting the fm frequency menu is there. The minute it cuts out I press Menu and that menu item is gone. It comes back once the radio starts working again. Mine is 1 year old. I got it Christmas of 2006. I do know that if you have it directly connected then this menu item will not appear and that is by design. I think my xm roady xt has gone bad.

The youtube solution seems to have been removed from Youtube so I will fill you in on what I know. I have purchased a couple Roady XT's in the past year for various reasons. One that I received never had the FM transmitter menu option. XM Canada insists that some Roady XT's came built that way because of broadcasting standards. Having an extra XT on hand, I asked them to deactivate the XT that didn't have the FM transmitting ability with the other one which did. The only way to listen to the one without a transmitting ability is by the line out which isn't always an option unless you have a tape deck or line in to your stereo or deck. I love the FM transmitting ability because of the awesome range. When buying these units, if this is an important feature, be sure to ask if it is included.

The static level is so high I am unable to hear the radio.

Under menu, select FM frequency. Try using different frequency. A nearby FM station could be bleeding its signal onto the FM frequency your unit is using by default.

My roady xt does not have a fm select option on the menu

You need to have it in the AUTO base/cradle - AND - you cannot have anything plugged into the LINE OUT or AUX OUT jack, as it will disable the FM transmitter. Try unplugging the audio output, then you'll be able to select the FM transmitter again. I believe that they removed the option from the HOME cradle/dock all together because of regular AM/FM radio stations complaining to the FCC that the transmitters were too strong (in other words, they wanted to hurt satellite radio competition or slow it down as much as possible by forcing Sirius and XM go back and redesign their radios for a much weaker or NO FM transmitter).

Roady xt

i figured it out with help from a delphi service rep.! you need to go into the menu and reset to factory default.this will erase everything you have changed from the factory settings, but once done you can reprogram your settings and they will stay. step 1-enter menu step 2-reset factory default settings step 3-reprogram your preset stations,FM freq. colors etc. step 4-use power button on the roady to turn it off.once the roady shuts down turn it back on with the power button. step 4-now you should be able to turn the key off without erasing your presets.

Connecting via a cable to my car radio

The best way to hook up this radio to your car is wireless! This radio has a built-in FM transmitter. All you have to do is go into the menu on the radio and find FM settings. Figure out or set the radio station, and then tune into it on your car.

It's not in the menu selections because the Roady 2 does not have an internal FM transmitter. The Roady XT does though.
