Java editor is a text editor which probably understands java language synthax and can automatically call java to compile your code.
Java software is a program written in Java programming language which is interpreted/executed by JVM(JAva virtual machine) on a target computer.
Your question is a rough equivalent to : What is a difference between typewriter and a recipe book written in English language

If we look to this question as a view of programmer Java Editor are the software where we can write our java code. There are IDE such as Eclipse, here you can write and compile your code and see the result in the console which is at the bottom of the screen
What is the difference between Java editor and Jav - difference-between-java-editor-java-he13p1vhmjhe0wjz1icxfo3b-1-0.png we can also write our java codes on text editor such as Notepad++

But to compile this code and run the program we need to use cmd or command prompt

The answer of second part of your question is that java softwares are the softwares which are written in java programming language.

By Java editor I am guessing you meant the IDE (Integrated Development Environment) for programming and compiling in Java? If so then you need JDK (Java Development Kit). As others have mentioned previously, you can write Java code using any text editor but to actually compile that code into a program you would need the JDK which also includes the JRE (Java Runtime Environment)

The JRE is runtime interpretor that will translate the java code from your program into machine language so that your computer will understand. Java programs and software require the JRE to be installed on the computer in order to run.

Any text editor can be used as java editor to edit the java code. Java software is required in your system to run any application developed in java.

You should also have the latest verion of Flash Player. You said you reinstalled..., but aht did you reinstall? You may want to uninstall the Java and rinstal here;

Your DVD burning software is corrupted or if JAVA based, JAVA installation is corrupted. Try installing a different burning software. I like CDBurnerXP.

Best of luck, Jim

Winrar file doesnt download properly, so tried saving as .jar file, but dont know to instal .jar .jad files on Winddows xp pc

Both of these files .jar and .jad are JAVA files a programming language by SUN. The jar file contains many compressed files and can be run on a PC with "Java Runtime Environment" (JRE) can be downloaded from Java.com. The .jad file is also a JAVA file which is used with java virtual Machine (JVM) ME used for games and application development for cell phones. There are completely different from WinRAR which is used for folder compression and no you cannot install those files on the PC. Only .exe or .msi can be installed on the computer.
Download WinRAR compression software from the web if you already do not have it if you like to decompress a RAR file.
