Here are some of the main flu symptoms, but if you are concerned at all about your son you should get a medical professional to take a look at him;

- Runny / blocked nose

- Sore throat and cough

- Headache

- Chills

- Body pain

- Fatigue

- Upset stomach

Bird flu symptoms are?

Very similar to regular flu:
  • fever
  • sore throat
  • cough
  • headache
  • aching muscles
but it is potentially more dangerous and can lead in extreme cases to
  • eye infections
  • pneumonia, including viral pneumonia
  • acute respiratory distress
  • inflammation of the brain and heart.
So, if you have recently returned from a country that has an outbreak of bird flu (ie Sth Africa, China) and you get flu symptoms, see your doctor immediately.

What does it mean to have abnormal lymph nodes in your stomach area

It could be a upper respiratory infection, cold, flu, non Hodgkin Lymphoma, etc. If you're having the same symptoms as a cold plus excessive night sweats & they last longer than 2 weeks, you should go see your Dr for further testing.Non Hodgkins Lymphoma has alot of the same symptoms as your common cold,so don't get worried. The main thing is to pay attention to your symptoms & see if they go away in under 2 weeks. If not, then go see your Dr again.

How do I know that this years flu vaccine is correct

the vials are clearly labeled. If you take the vaccine, you will get this year's cure. Ask to read the label if you don't trust your heathcare professional.

What are some of the side effects of the flu vaccine?

You may feel some light flu-like symptoms after getting the flu shot. You might feel some aches and pains and cold like symptoms such as a runny nose, cough or sore throat.
But you should bear in mind that the benefits of the vaccine far outweigh the side effects

Can you diagnose yourself with the flu? I am pretty sure that I have it and want to avoid sitting in the doctor surgery for hours.

You can definitely look online to see what flu symptoms are and make an overall assessment but if you have any queries or symptoms that you are concerned about, it's always best to see a doctor. You can always call to ask a question rather than sitting in the waiting room for hours to be seen.

Take a look at this Mayo clinic link which helps assess if you have flu or not, but it should just be used as a guide, not instead of a doctor;

My wife has had the flu for 4 days already. Should she see a doctor?

Whilst there isn't much a doctor can do to treat flu (other than advise pain relief, decongestants etc), it can be helpful to see a doctor to confirm the diagnosis and especially if the symptoms are not improving.

Seek medical attention if:

- There is difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

- Confusion

- Severe or persistent vomiting

- Seizures

- Chest pain

How can I tell if my husband actually has the flu or just a cold? He is complaining a lot but I dont know whether to take it seriously or not.

You can have a really bad head cold and feel rotten but it's still not the flu. The symptoms of the flu are similar in many ways to a cold but usually just a lot worse. Especially the fever, body aches which are more intense with flu than a common cold.

What Is The Symptoms For swine Flu?

First you start snorting like a pig....OK, just kidding.

Symptoms are the same as any other flu. General bodyaches, fever, cough or cold....maybe diarrea. Here's what the CDC says:

What are the signs and symptoms of this virus in people?
The symptoms of 2009 H1N1 flu virus in people include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. A significant number of people who have been infected with this virus also have reported diarrhea and vomiting. Severe illnesses and death has occurred as a result of illness associated with this virus.

I also put a link to the webpage for CDC, Centers for Disease Control
