Question about Kitchen Ranges
Cables to bulb holders got overheated and came loose from holders. Cables have been changed as has the master control electronic unit, problem persists, local Bulthaup rep is perplexed so suggests changing the whole ventilation unit at considerable cost!

You just have to turn the bulb counter clockwise to unscrew it. The instruction manual asks you to use a suction cup to help if the bulb is too tight !! See attached picture.

Believe it or not - they just unscrew like regular light bulbs. There is supposed to be a suction cup that came with the hood to replace the bulb - we lost ours. I was able to remove it by using a little bit of pressure on the face of the bulb and twisting it back and forth. The other bulb was stuck, so I made a "handle" using duct tape on the face of the bulb.

SOURCE: Halogen Lights Failing
I had the same experiences with my lights. I placed a 50v bulb and it blew the fuses. The fusees located on the right side of the bottom duct cover. use 5a 125 v fuse GE part # wb27x10542 but you can find a cheaper fuse at Radio Shack. Good luck

the dimmer switch/thermostat is most likely bad. resistor inside is burned.p/n pe050033 you can change it yourself with a little mechanical aptitude.

Buylighting.com, JDR120V-75W-E27CG...also comes in 50 watt. They aren't inexpensive, but if installed properly, will last a while. We have a little suction cup to take them out and put them in. It came with the range hood. If you get fingerprints on a halogen bulb, it can blow out quicker.
