HCL4715W Green Color intermittently projecting

It sounds like the common problem with this set. It is an intermittant picture tube, or there is a loose connection on the green drive board on the green picture tube. Try lightly tapping all around on the green drive board while the set is on and see if you have any change. BUT BE VERY CAREFUL! Lots of high voltage on the board. Also use a plastic or wooden device to do the tapping. If you do great, you know you need to resolder the connections on the board or clean the CRT socket on the green drive board. If there is no change, I would bet the green CRT is on its way out. But try tapping the green drive board all over as I said before, that is a very very common fault with these types of TV sets. Good Luck

WHEN I TURN ON MY L32 I GET NO PICTURE. I GET BLACK SCREEN THEN LOTS OF COLOR, REDS ,BLUE ,ALL COLORS IN DIFFERENT PATERNS THAT KEEP CHANGING. SOUND IS PERFECT AND I CAN CHANGE CHANNELS AND VOLUMEAND...

It sounds to me like it's stuck in service mode. There is a button combination with the remote to return it to normal. I would call Vizio support and they should be able to help you.

I think it's a combination like [volume -], [channel -] and power but I could be wrong.

Philips 23PF9966/37 color problem!

Most likely you can adjust it in the Service Alignment Mode (SAM).

Press 062596 followed by the STATUS button (upper left). Navigate to "White Tone", press the right key to enter and select "Normal" mode. Set the colors:

Red = 135, Green = 128, Blue = 133.

The "Cool" and "Warm" menus are deltas from the "Normal" settings:

COOL: R -3, G -1, B 5
WARM: R 2, G -3, B -13

Press the "MENU" button to return to the main menu, then the "Power" button to turn the TV off.

Green Display Problem

Hello vinodquilon,

The problem you described is more then likely related to the video processor. Possibly also some power supply issue, since the audio section is being effected also. Or this may be two unrelated problems in that case the video processor and the audio processor and amplifier should be suspect. This is how I would handle this problem:

1) Get the schematic for this TV

2) Tackle the video problem first
a) Locate the video processor connect a known video source generator (I use the Sencore VA62A) and take voltage measurements and compare them to the schematic values (For red, green, and blue), if the values are not as they should be, use and oscilloscope to look at the waveforms of the video section and compare them to the schematic values if they are not as they should be, change out the video processor. Retest the TV, this should take care of the video problem.

3) Tackle the audio problem
a) Using the audio section on the VA62A inject a 1000Hz tone into the TV and using an oscilloscope check the input to the audio processor and the output of the audio processor if you do not see a 1KHz sine wave on the output check the voltage levels and compare them to the schematic, if they do nor match change out the processor, if they do match and you see a 1KHz sine wave at the output of the processor, then check the input and output of the audio amplifier stage in the TV if there is no audio at the output change out the amplifier.

This is a good starting point, now I must be frank with you, I run a TV repair business and I do understand that you may not have , Video Signal Analyzer or Oscilloscope, and Video/Audio Signal generator, or even a multimeter to do this job correctly, so since I have told you how I would do this job and you can follow the instructions given and solve your problem, Let me advise you on what you should do,

If I were you and did not have the above equipment nor experience in electronics, I would take the TV to a qualified TV repair center and have it fixed there since they would have the necessary equipment to do the job properly.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

TV is coming up in blue and green.

If some areas of the screen are blue and green while other areas are normal, then either the picture tube has been heavily magnetized or damaged by falling over. If there is any kind of magnetic field near the set, such as a large stereo speaker or elecrtic motor, move them away from each other, unplug the TV and let it sit for an hour or so, plug it in and turn it on. The TV demagnetizes the picture tube with each cold start. If the colors are still off then it may need a stronger external demagnetizer, but if the tube was damaged by shock then it cannot be fixed.

Zenith 25" Color TV - Model A25A23W

Your problem is a bad connection on the CRT socket on the CRT driver board, a bad connection in the RGB driver supply from the video jungle IC or maybe even an intermittant Picture tube. the only way to tell would be to tap on the crt board while the sets playing with a non conductive insterment, and see if it changes. Now there is alot of HIGH VOLTAGE at this spot, so if you have no TV repoair experience Please stay safe and call in a pro to assist you. Good Luck Please dont forget to rate this thread.
