SOURCE: i cant see display after

If you have no display is sounds like you forgot to attatch power to your graphics card? (6pin or 8pin?)
or else, you have to look in the manual for help http://www.foxconnsupport.com/download.aspx?models=en-us0000138&category=C000000001&series=en-us0000002&keywords=&sort=Motherboard%20Manual

Compaq computer power supply model HP-U250XC3 how to turn it on

what PC? none stated, just PSU.
what are you doing with that PSU
bench testing, it or what>>>??? we cant guess USAGE ever.

to bench test it use a jumper wire.
the 24 pin cable ATX2, jump pin 15 to 16, PS_on to ground.
that turns it on, so you can use a voltmeter to check each power rail pin.

http://www.pcdied.com/power.html

in inside PC, it must be connect to the MOBO
and then the MOBO power switch connected or it cant be turned on.

I put new power supply in my hp pavilion slimline but still wot turn on

the first thing you should do if it don't start is unplug everything (memory, cards - the lot) from the mobo apart from the power supply and turn it on.
if you get nothing, it's either the power supply or the mobo. check the power supply actually works, if not that then it's mobo.
if you get beeps, plug things in one at a time, when you arrive at the condition you started with, that's the bit that's wrong.

Dell Dimension 3000, splashed liquid from canned air, mobo fried?

The spray on the MB should not be a problem - unless it was plugged in when you did it. Yes, you should be able to put in a new Dell motherboard. As long as the processor is of the same class, the Dell license should work fine. However, you may need to download new drivers for the machine to run.

If you really want to check the power supply, I would suggest you buy a tester. They are fairly cheap: $10-50. You want to be sure that your board is getting the right power at the right places. 12 V to the fan is fine. However, 3.3 v or 1.5 v?

It sounds like you have done a fairly good test of the motherboard. I've definitely seen bad Dell motherboards with the light on with/without a bad power supply.

If you have another case (an ATX), I would buy an Asus or other motherboard and put your equipment in it. The cost of a Dell motherboard is excessive. Of course, you will have license problems with XP.

Absolutely. I'm assuming since you put it together you can also take it apart. (and yes, sorry to say i'm the one who told you it was fried.)

Be sure when you pull off the CPU fan that you disconnect if from the motherboard, then give it a very (very, VERY - just to loosen up the thermal paste) gentle twist back and forth to loosen it up, then lift it off.

Unfortunately i think you were using the original FX64 CPU in a socket 940 mobo, so you will have a hard time finding a new mobo (like, hard as in impossible). The good news is....eBay..... there's a bunch of your exact mobo on there.

good luck, and beat your intern/assistant or whatever about the face and neck for attempting to make an upgrade to your computer.

Emachine 180 (bought 2004)

I have this type of computer (just sitting around , not for my main computer) and I had a smilar problem. I took it to a guy I know (who owns a computer repiar shop) an he said the motherboards on this model go haywire about four years after initial power-up. On mine, it caused the power supply to blow-up (literally) and blew out most components. (Floppy drive, Sound card, USB ports, Keyboar/mouse plugs)

I really don't know if What he said is true, but I replaced the power supply, and now it works fine.

My Asus mobo P5ld2 cant turn on

Did you try to unplug all AC Power; remove internal surface battery; and then jumper the 'reset' pins from 1-2 to 2-3 ? Leave in this state for about 5 minutes- then replace battery; re-jumper back to pins 1-2- replace AC power cord. Sometimes wiping out the BIOS setup information and restarting/re-setting it up will do the trick!

Computer Build Problem

Try taking out the mobo and ps out of its casing, lay it on a table, hook things together and power it up. I had some problems before caused by mounting studs or try insulating all stubs from the mobo. hope this will help.

W2646 crapped out

Some eMachines computers (like many from Dell) use a non-standard pin out for their power supplies, so if you try a standard ATX power supply it may not function.

However, in my experience it IS likely to be the motherboard. Luckly I have been able to replace quite a few of the eMachines mobos with a standard mATX mobo, since you can probably remove the IO plate. You'd certainly want to replace the power supply when doing so.
