I talked to sony they want $250 to fix it thats to much I just want to find what board I need to replace and just put a new one in. thanks for the info I will check out that site and see if it helps thanks again.

web site was not any help. I think I have a site to a parts dealer who will just sell parts like boards and stuff like that then main thing I need to figure out is what board I need to replace.

Take all of the batteries out of the unit, and see if that helps. Also check in the owners manual, if you have one. If you don't, you can go and download one for free here:http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=DSCF717&LOC=3 Good Luck

replace the main microprocessor board, or send the camera to the Sony camera repair depot. I cannot jump through the internet and fix your camera, how unrealistic that is, Fix it? How can I do that? There is no magic fix for this I'm afraid.

Not a problem. I really do wish there was ways I could assist more but it is impossible, as sometimes a post will want me to fix it or tell them a miricle cure all, but that is just impossible. I am doing a little more research on your camera. There is not a lot available in the way of information. I will get back to you in a couple of days if not sooner.

I found a parts list herehttp://www.partstore.com/GetModel.aspx?M... http://eservice.sony.com/webrma/web/vali... though. I did find a place you can request service, so why not try and see if they have a flat rate or how much they charge for an estimate. repair:

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Here's a link to this great service

Good luck!

If i put my camra on self timer win i print the pictures will the time show up on the pictures

The time it took the picture? You want to know if the camera will show the time it took the picture using the self timer?

My answer is Yes and No.

Do you have your camera set to showing the date and time on the pictures now? If you do, then using the self timer would not change anything.

If you do have it set to showing on the picture and you don't want the date and time to show then change the setting on the menu function of the camera and turn this option off.

If you do not already have the camera set to show the date and time, using the self timer option is not going to make it suddenly appear.

Set date and time and camera should work. If camera asks to have date set everytime you take batteries out then the memory 3 volt battery is flat ... replace.
