SOURCE: I can't get my Yamaha

Reread your manual pages 14 and 15. Note page 14 tells you that "When using a monophonic tone generator such as the VL70m, the Normal Hold and Follow Hold functions CANNOT be used." I have both the WX5 and WX7. I also have both the VL70m and the WT11. The VL70m has a lot of better sounds, is editable and has better effects the WT11 allows you to use both follow modes. Any polyphonic midi keyboard with a midi in jack will allow you to use the follow modes. Read the directions on page 9 of your WX5 manual to hook your WX5 to the keyboard. Set your keyboard to receive all midi channels. I think it is Omni On, Poly. Hope this helps.

With no octave keys pressed the wx5 is playing an octave too low

Please have a look at the instruction manual again. The 8ve keys are assignable/editable for up or down. You can change the range of the scale this way. I own a WX7 and a WX5. They both work this way.

Keys stick on yamaha wx11

It must have been dropped. Look to see if one side is bent so as to pinch the key. Gently pry it until it moves. Add lubricant if needed

When I connect my midi cables to my PC and use Fruity Loops or Mixcraft and I play notes on the Roland Juno D keyboard, some of the notes stick and dont stop playing once released and others are played...

You need to turn off the echo of the MIDI that sends the signals back to the Juno. When near simulataneous MIDI signals are mixed the decoder can receive "partial" messages that re-trigger the notes and then miss the note off commands. If you can't find the setting in the software, disconnect the input to the Juno MIDI while recording it.

Yamaha wx5 out of tune (1 tone to low) and pitch bend wheel working up but not down...

As an electrical engineer, I suspect that one end of the resistance element or the voltage supplied to it is broken. This could be a broken circuit trace on a board or failure of the pitch wheel pot. This is iff the device has a center tapped pot. IF IT DOESN"T (schematics are hard to find on this) then the bias setting for the pitch wheel may be wrong. First thing would be to look if the the wheel has slipped on the control shaft.

Batteries stuck inside

You have two choices, 1 disassemble it yourself(screws on the bottom side) or send it in to be repaired. 2 Here is the recommended place in the U.S. :http://www.patchmanmusic.com/repairs.html Unfortunately they will not ship outside the States. Any good Yamaha dealer should be able to help you though. It is not easy to do yourself unless you have some experience.

I'm trying to midi from my mm8 into my mm6,but will not receive the midi signal,i went into utility ,and all the settings seem to be set right, what am i doing wrong?

I assume you have MIDI out MM8 cabled to MIDI in MM6?

You also have to setup the MIDI to be emitted by the MM8 and define the MIDI channel(s) to be used at both ends.

I assume you are sending note on/off, etc. information and not Sysex which MAY NOT be compatible between these units.

None of my programs are receiving midi commands from the FC-300, it's linked into an M-Box II.

I have a FC-200. I don't know by your post what you are trying to do but think of the pedal as a device that can alter a communication between two other devices or one device which transmits info which the pedal receives, alters and then transmits to whatever is on the receiving end. In this case your program. The pedal has to have sysex info transmitted to it or midi info such as a sequence etc. I use mine to control the parameters on my wind syth module. I go from midi out on the module to midi in on the pedal and from midi out on the pedal to midi in on the module. There is also a battery onboard that you might want to check that stores your pedals programmed parameters. Hope this helps.

No sound

1. plug in some headphones into the jack.
2. connect to an amplifier or external source.
3. connect midi to a midi-compatible device and determine if device receives signal by pressing keys

If #1 or #2 passes, your speakers are bad.

If #1 & #2 fail, but #3 passes, your setting are set so that there is no sound, but the keybourd still recognizes input.

If all three fail, the keys do not send a signal at all, you should replace the keyboard.
