My blackberry 7290 has been working well but oneday it refused to turn wireless network on for a week now what do i do

Re install the os!


. Goto http://www.blackberry.com/support/index.shtml
2. Under the heading "downloads" select "service packs"
3. Select "Blackberry Desktop Software 4.1" in the pulldown menu
4. Choose service pack 1 (English) or service pack 1 (multilingual) if required
5. Now download this to your pc and run the installation
Now you need to download the firmware upgrade to support your handset.
Select your network from the list below to be taken to their firmware page then choose the newest firmware version for your model :

6. Start the Blacberry desktop manager and plug in your blackberry.
7. Desktop manager will prompt you that there is a new version
8. Proceed with the install
9. Make sure you select the backup option
10. Once your upgrade is complete, your Blackberry will take around 5 minutes to reboot.
11. Now you can proceed to unlock your phone

Hi,

your phone is network locked. To unlock it you need to type MEP2 unlock code. You can buy unlock code at BlackBerry 7290 Unlock Page at FastGSM.

Data connection refused
Hi,

After cancelling the data plan with the wireless service provider, the message Data connection refused appears at the top of the Home screen on the BlackBerry smartphone instead of the branding of the wireless service provider.

This is caused may be you were previously subscribed to a data plan through a wireless service provider, and the BlackBerry smartphone is still configured to attempt to access the data network.

To resolve this issue, you need to turn off the Data Services feature on the BlackBerry smartphone. To perform this, you need to complete the following steps:
  1. From the Home screen, open the Options menu.
  2. Click on Mobile Network or Network.
  3. Set the value of the Data Services field to Off.
  4. Open the menu and select Save.
  5. Return to the Home screen.
  6. Turn the wireless transceiver off and then on again.
To enable (turn on) the wireless transceiver on the BlackBerry device, go to the Home screen and select the Turn Wireless On icon or open Manage Connections and select the wireless connection to be enabled. Once enabled, the icon will display Turn Wireless Off .

To disable (turn off) the wireless transceiver, go to the Home screen and select the Turn Wireless Off icon or open Manage Connections and select the wireless connect to be disabled. Once disabled, the icon will display Turn Wireless On.

I have a blackberry 7290 unlocked with att service. i have an att sim card that works fine but the phone will not find the network. is there anything i need to do to pick up the att network?

Blackberry 7290 no service suddenly
Try turning the radio off, power down adn then back on.

Got to Network, diable automatic and select your netwrok provider.

No Service error message
Try performing a hard reset:

1. Remove the battery from the device (while it is still powered on).
2. Remove the SIM card from the device.
3. Reinsert the SIM card and battery back in to the device.

Unlock my blackberry 7290
Like you being with T-mobile, I bought a cingular phone off ebay that wasn't unlock. My sims didn't work either. My network just said call Cingular which is now AT&T and they gave me the MEP code to unlock it. Beware, you need to confirm all of your information from your network before they will help you.
