These ridges or indentations on nails can be for a few different reasons, most of which are not any cause for concern. Vertical ridges tend to increase with age and certain medications can also add to them.

I have a bostitch Ridge runner coil nailer and it has no adjustment to set nail depth

you can do it by decreasing the air pressure, that model was out in 1998 and the technology wasn't quite there yet. they make in line regulator that can be ******* into the back of the gun for on the go adjustments. or another style is tamper proof to whatever PSI you prefer. Good luck

How to clockwise the piston rings in gx 270

By clockwise piston ring do you mean clocking the piston rings?
If this is what you asking, that means the rings have gaps. when istalling them the gaps should not be aligned. If they are you will burn oil severely, the gaps are an open path for the oil to pump right on through to the combustion chamber. These gaps should be set approxamately 90 degrees apart. by the picture start with the wiper rings or bottom one move the 2nd ring approx. 1/4 turn or 90 degrees and repeat one more time with the upper ring. Now you can install the piston.

Please note that higher mileage vehicles have ridge or a raised ring
that you can feel with your finger nail at the top of the cylinder. This ridge will break the hardened steel rings if they are forced in the cylinder. Note: If the bore is not honed smooth or this ridge has not been removed and the cylinder is not honed all this work will not fix your problem. Doing this repair requires all new surfaces to seat and the oil should be changed after approx. 1000 miles be carefull with the oil addatives they may prevent the rings from seating. There are non detergent oils available for the break in period.

The reason for the change is to get the metal particulates out of the oil by replacing the filter and new oil.

Good luck I hope this helps solve your dilema.

After taking my blades off to sharpen them, a strip of grass in center of cut path is left when I mow.

The blades are very carefully made so that they slightly overlap. This is why on some machines when you turn one way there will be a strip as described. If you ground the ends shorter, they will not overlap, and this is your problem. You should only sharpen the lower cutting side [NOT THE END] of the blade. Make sure that they are evenly ground back, not more near the outside as this will result in a curved cut with low centres and slight ridges in the middle of the blade paths. Also important to accurately balance them. Place nail in vise and put blade so the exact centre of the hole is on the nail, splined blades can be difficult. Maybe necessary to get ring of tube to fit inside spline. Grind off low end until they hang level.

Can a jig saw rip fence (Skil rip fence model No. 94500), with adjustment on the shaft from zero to five inches, be used to make a circular cut with a 8 inch radius (i.e., a 16 inch diameter cutout)?

no, will never happen. Make yourself a jig, 1/4" plywood set on your table top woth a small brad set 4" from blade. make a tiny hole in board to be cut into circle, spin the board on the brad, and look a wagon wheel.

How do I install a new pipe boot on an asphalt shingled roof?

the boot slips over the vent pipe. The plastic rectangular part of the boot slips under the shingles that are toward the ridge. The rectangle part forms a shingle.
