How can I fix my error 530 problem in outlook?


Your Outlook settings work fine at home, sending/receiving mail. You're on the road now, and you can no longer send, but only receive mails. You're getting an Error 530 or Outlook error 0x800CCC78.

The problem is the on-the-road ISP may be blocking port 25, and/or your ISP might not accept mail being relayed from other network domains. SBC Yahoo allows you to change your SMTP port from 25 to 587. Most ISPs let port 587 flow through. Internet access works, receiving email works, you just can no longer send.

Solution:

  • Go to Outlook, Tools, Accounts, Server, Advanced, and change the SMTP port from 25 to 587. Hit Apply, OK, then exit/restart Outlook.
  • Start Outlook, create a test email and send it. Should work fine.
  • The solution might vary with other ISPs. Your home ISP must support an alternate port for SMTP TCP traffic, and the current ISP providing you access must not block that alternative port.
  • Recognize this is all the fault of spammers and the ISPs trying to slow them down. This is why they block port 25 for non-customers.

If this doesn't work, just change the port back to port 25.
Alternatively, as with SBC Yahoo mail, you can always use the Webmail interface. This, like all other web pages, uses port 80, which ISPs do not block.

the block must be done by your ISP (internet service provider).. or if you are in office...they must have blocked the IPs of the website ... from there router

Linksis router wont work help me out


First of all contact your isp and get your connection settings. If you are able to setup the router using the cd provided then good. If you are still having problems then go ahead and contact linksys (remember linksys charges for the support). I suggest get a technician to assist you in setting up.

Note: if you have changed the default IP Address assigned to the DI-624, make sure to enter the correct IP Address.



 Open the web browser
 Type in the IP Address of
the Router (http://192.168.0.1)

Home > Wireless
Service Set Identifier (SSID) is the name designated for a specific wireless local area network (WLAN). The SSID’s factory default setting is default. The SSID can be easily changed to connect to an existing wireless network or to establish a new wireless network.
SSID-
Channel-
6 is the default channel. All devices on the network must share the same channel. (Note: The wireless adapters will automatically scan and match the wireless setting.)
WEP-
Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) is a wireless security protocol for Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN). WEP provides security by encrypting the data that is sent over the WLAN. Select Enabled or Disabled. Disabled is the default setting. (Note: If you enable encryption on the DI-624 make sure to also enable encryption on all the wireless clients or wireless connection will not be established.)

Select the level of encryption desired: 64-bit, or 128-bit.
Key Type-
Select HEX or ASCII.

IP Address-
Choose Dynamic IP Address to obtain IP Address information automatically from your ISP. Select this option if your ISP does not give you any IP numbers to use. This option is commonly used for Cable modem services.
Host Name-
The Host Name is optional but may be required by some ISPs. The default host name is the device name of the Router and may be changed.
MAC Address-
The default MAC Address is set to the WAN’s physical interface MAC address on the Broadband Router. It is not recommended that you change the default MAC address unless required by your ISP.
Clone
MAC Address-
The default MAC address is set to the WAN’s physical interface MAC address on the Broadband Router. You can use the "Clone MAC Address" button to copy the MAC address of the Ethernet Card installed by your ISP and replace the WAN MAC address with the MAC address of the router. It is not recommended that you change the default MAC address unless required by your ISP.
Enter a DNS Address if you do not wish to use the one provided by your ISP.
Primary/
Secondary DNS Address-
MTU-
Enter an MTU value only if required by your ISP. Otherwise, leave it at the default setting.15
Home > WAN > Static IP Address
Static IP Address-
Choose Static IP Address if all WAN IP information is provided to you by your ISP. You will need to enter in the IP address, subnet mask, gateway address, and DNS address(es) provided to you by your ISP. Each IP address entered in the fields must be in the appropriate IP form, which are four octets separated by a dot (x.x.x.x). The Router will not accept the IP address if it is not in this format.
IP Address-
Input the public IP Address provided by your ISP.
Subnet Mask-
Input your Subnet mask. (All devices in the network must have the same subnet mask.)
ISP
Gateway Address-
Input the public IP address of the ISP to which you are connecting.
Primary
DNS Address-
Input the primary DNS (Domain Name Server) IP address provided by your ISP.
Secondary
DNS Address-
This is optional.
Enter an MTU value only if required by your ISP. Otherwise, leave it at the default setting.

Belkin wireless router


Hi,

Your Belkin router is normally configured to get a dynamic IP Add from your Internet provider unless otherwise configured. Most ISP's network where clients/subscribers connect (through DSL) has a DHCP server that hands out this IP adds. If your router keeps on changing its WAN IP add, it may presumably be because:
1. Your router keeps on rebooting or powering on/off and everytime it turns on, it is given a new IP add;
2. Your ISP's DHCP server keeps on renewing its lease on the IP add given to your router.

Corrective measures would entail:
a. Do a full hard reset of your router and go through the installation setup again. Of course this would revert all settings/configuration to factory default; and/or
b. Contact your ISP and explain your concern.

In some cases, the router's MAC address has an issue that the ISP's DHCP is keeping a hard time recognizing it. this can be corrected with a firmware update.

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things tunrs up or should you need additional information.

If the servers have simple names like 'mail' or 'news', the problem may be that the ISP's domain suffix is not being added to these names before DNS lookup. Add your ISP's domain suffix as Domain Name in the RO318's System menu. In addition, the ISP may be looking for a particular host name for your account, in which case you should enter the host name as the System Name in the RO318's System menu. Example: Consider the following account with the ISP "earthlink.net". 1. Host Name: C-223344-A 2. Domain Name: www.earthlink.net Mail Server mail Although the ISP lists the name of their mail server as 'mail', the fully expanded name is actually: mail.earthlink.net If the ISP automatically provides the domain suffix to your router, the router will append the domain suffix to DNS requests. If not, you can try one of these methods: 1. In each application (such as mail client or news reader), list the fully expanded server name, 2. Manually configure DNS parameters in the network settings of each of your PCs, and enter the domain suffix manually.

The default name server due to interaction with the router?s NAT firewall feature cannot resolve simple names such as ?mail?. There is a workaround for this: First, verify that the mail client is set up with simple server names. To view the server names entered into Outlook Express, click on "Tools", "Accounts". Highlight the mail account and click on "Properties". Click on the "Servers" tab. Under "Server Information", there are two fields called "Incoming mail" and "Outgoing mail". If these are simple names like "Mail" and not something like "pop.myisp.mail.com" then use this work around. Second, make sure that the TCP/IP settings are configured to obtain an IP address automatically. In Windows 2000 also make sure that the TCP/IP settings are also configured for Obtain DNS server address automatically. Replace the mail server names with the mail server IP addresses. There are a couple ways this information can be obtained. Contacting the ISP and asking is one possible way. The other way is to reconnect the original computer to the modem. Make sure the computer is restarted or that the IP configuration is released and renewed and that the computer has obtained an IP address from the ISP. Open a "COMMAND" window by typing "CMD" in the run dialog box located in the "Start" menu. At the command prompt, type "PING MAIL" where "mail" is the simple name of the incoming mail server. The ISP server will return an IP address for the mail server. Record this address. Do the same for the outgoing mail server (if different): type "PING MAIL" where "mail" is the simple name of the outgoing mail server. Open the mail client (Outlook Express, etc.). For Outlook Express, click on "Tools", "Accounts". Highlight the mail account and click on "Properties". Click on the "Servers" tab. Under "Server Information", there are two fields called "Incoming mail" and "Outgoing mail". Enter the incoming and outgoing mail server IP addresses into these fields. Click "Apply". Close the window and test the mail by sending an e-mail to the mailbox. (Send an E-mail to yourself. This will test the incoming and outgoing mail all at once)
