I have Windows 8 and have not been able to connect to the internet.

There are several possible reasons to have a connection fail. You could have a driver issue, the network adapter may have failed, the passkey/SSID aren't correct (for wireless connections) or the router/WAN network is down. (The WAN being disconnected happens with my systems at regular intervals.) If the router/access point has been secured to limit the number of devices on the network or only allow certain MAC addresses, use a different device to log in to that router and increase the number of allowed devices. (This will depend on the make/model of your router. It's probably under the Advanced settings.)

What type of hardware are you using (laptop/desktop/tablet)? What make and model is it? If you have both wired and wireless network adapters, try making a new network with the other adapter. Also try to create a new network connection for the current adapter.

You can check for driver issues from the desktop clicking the Windows key + X (on systems with keyboards) and choosing the Control Panel. Then under System and Security (or Hardware and Sound) choose the Device Manager. Scroll down to the Network Adapters and expand that section by clicking on the plus sign. If there is a triangle with an exclamation point or a red x, then you have a driver issue. Use another machine to download the drivers and place them on a USB drive or other external media. Install the drivers. (If you can use a different network adapter, then just download and install the drivers.) Try the network trouble-shooter to identify a problem.

If updating the drivers doesn't work, check if other devices do connect to your network. If another device works, try a USB network adapter (or for a desktop, a PCI/PCI-e network card). You may need to disable the on-board network adapter in the BIOS. (This is hardware dependent again.) If other devices can't access the network, try directly connecting a wired network to your DSL, FIOS, or cable modem. If the direct connection doesn't work, then contact your provider. If the direct connection works, try a new router/access point.

I hope this helps.

(note: on an older XP laptop with only USB 1.0 ports, I recommend replacing the device, instead of a USB network adapter. The USB port speed will make the network connection excessively slow.)

I get network connection but unable to access my email.

Remove the Linksys Adapter and un-install the Linksys Software from Programs menu...To re-install the Drivers insert the Linksys Setup CD into your CD-ROM drive, When the Welcome screen appears click Exit, connect your USB adapter now...When the Hardware Update Wizard window appears, click Install the software automatically (Recommended) then click Next...Click Finish when the installation is complete...

NOTE: The Hardware Installation screen may appear indicating that the Adapter has not passed Windows Logo testing. Ignore the window and click Continue Anyway to proceed with the installation since the Adapter has been tested and found to work with Windows XP.When Windows has finished installing the driver, click Finish.

Click on Start and goto Control Panel and double click on Network Connections...Right click on Wireless Network Connection and select View Available Wireless Networks"- If you see your wireless network in the list, highlight it by 'single' clicking on it- Now click on the 'Connect' button below- If your wireless network is secured, it would ask you to provide the network key- Provide the wireless network key and confirm it again in the confirmation box and click "Connect".It should work...

Dynex Wireless G USB Network Adpater Locks up Vista Computer

There is a port, Memory range, or IRQ conflict between the two units (printer and network adapter. You need to go to:
Control Panel>System Maintenance>System>Device Manager check the 2 parts you are having trouble with, they might be in the "?" area. You can also delete the network adapter here and that might fix your printer problem, if not you will have to delete and re-install the printer. It is possible that these 2 units will not work together. If you do re-install the network adapter try to do it with the advanced options so you can change to parameters.

Hope I helped...

Wireless signal keeps dropping/dissapearing

Check my tip
Using Router and Wlan adapter from different brand (Dynex + Belkin) is sometime calling for trouble: you must configure both to be sure to be on same standard (or change Both).
I'm using Netgear + Belkin and tune is not easy
On router config check radio power, reduce the used standard (B/G A/N) to the only one used by Belkin adapter (N).
Be sure you removed Windows zero wireless configuration (= use windows to manage my connection= OFF)
edit your belking wireless networking utility to automatic reconnect:

try downgrading to G standard from router side
Check your network connection plugging your laptop to router via lan cable.and check network params (DHCP DNS etc.).
Then check wlan connection near router, if you experience wlan drops only when far from router, find any possible interferences source (Microwave, cordless, remote) remove it or be ware you cannot have wlan when your wave is working.
