It's not suppose to get off the screen. Unless your trying to switch modes, which deg is what you normally would be using. If not then it says it right on the front of it.

You can always convert a fraction to a decimal. The reverse may not alwas be possible.

The EL-501 doesn't display fractions. Some of Sharp's other calculators do, but not this one.

Once a fraction is entered it can be submitted to all allowable operations, like any other number. So keep the fractions coming. The calculator will reduce them to their simplest expressions.
