Question about Apple iPhone Smartphone
There's is actually a free way. No need to install any application (except iTunes), no need to register on any website or premium text services, no need to have an iTunes account, you don't even need internet connection. The guide is right here in FixYa, just click the link, no need to pay for anything:

I don't know if there is a free way of doing this, I think it will cost around $1 for each ringtone. If you open itunes then select help, then select itunes help...under the search tab type in custom ringtone and it will give you all of the information you need to create a custom ringtone from the song that you like.
I hope this helps

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

download the free app ringdroid in the app market.connect g1 to computer and mount .drag music into music folder.then open rigdroid.the music you dragged into folder should be here.cut the waveform however you want then save. now you can go to settings and under sound and display you can assign your newly made ring tone to your default tone.
