Scan to email wait

Scanning to email has always worked. Printer is on network and we can use the network to print to the printer. However, whenever the printer scans to email lately, the email tries to send for about 20 seconds then switches in the job status screen from "Process" to "Wait" and nothing happens. Have tried clearing out/deleting all past jobs, turning printer off and on, unplugging and replugging network cables.

Here is the process that should free you up.

  1. Press the [Access A] (key symbol) button on the top, right-hand corner of the Control Panel.

  2. Enter the system user name and password using the Touch Screen keyboard, then select [Enter] on the Touch Screen. The default user name is Admin and the password is 1111.
  3. If the Internal Auditron is not enabled, select the [Go To Tools] button. If the Internal Auditron is enabled, select the [Tools Pathway] button.
  4. Select the [More] button..
  5. Select the [Software Reset] button.
  6. Select the [Reset Both] button. The Confirmation Required screen will be displayed.
  7. Select the [Confirm] button. The lights will blink and the machine will begin its reboot procedure; this should take less than five minutes to complete. The machine will automatically return to the Features screen when the process is complete.

Solution
These errors are usually caused by a failed scan, a bad installation, communication problems or software conflicts. Follow the steps below until the problem is corrected.
Step one: Restart the computer
Close all programs and restart the computer. A required task might have stopped running or the system resources might have decreased due to tasks left running. Restarting the computer will refresh all Windows tasks as well as increase the available system resources.
Step two: Check for the correct entries in the Device Manager
Verify that the unit was installed on a DOT4 virtual port in the Device Manager.

  1. Right-click My Computer , and then click Properties .
  2. Click the Device Manager tab. (In Windows 2000 and XP, click the Hardware tab , and then click Device Manager .)
Check the list of installed devices for references to DOT4. If there are no DOT4 references, the software has not installed correctly.
If any of these entries are missing, the software did not install properly. Review the information in the HP document Troubleshooting Installation Issues for USB-Connected HP All-in-One Products in Microsoft(R) Windows (bpu01858) for installation assistance.
Step three: Check for communication problems between the all-in-one and the computer
Communication might have failed between the all-in-one and the computer. Review the information in the HP document USB Connected HP All-in-One's Software Reports a Disconnected or an Error Status (bpu01859) to check for communications problems between the HP all-in-one and the computer.
Step four: Check the computer to see if it is infected with a computer virus
If the all-in-one prints but will not scan correctly and does not show any symptoms of communications problems, the computer might be infected with a virus. Some viruses try to disable virus scanning software and in doing so disable scanning from the all-in-one. The following are symptoms a virus problem:
  • The scanning software works after installing the all-in-one software until the first time the computer is restarted.
  • In the Device Manager, opening the Properties of the Imaging Device entry will reveal a status of "code 19" or "code 28".
  • A Scanner Cannot be initialized error occurs. While this error may other reasons, a virus will cause this error.
When the all-in-one is turned on and connected, follow the steps below to see if this is the problem:
  1. Right-click My Computer (click Start first in Windows XP) and then click Properties .
  2. Open the Device Manager:
    • Windows 98 and Me: Select the Device Manager tab.
    • Windows 2000 and XP: Select the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager .
  3. Locate the Imaging Device entry and click the plus (+) beside it. It may have an exclamation mark beside it.
  4. Right-click the all-in-one entry under Imaging Devices, and then click Properties .
  5. A Properties screen will open. Look at the Device status section.

Dear sir;I believe you can try " cold reset", that's means going to clear all data from the printer memory and sets all the defaults back to the factory settings.performing a "cold reset" resets the jetDireect configuraion. to avoid making changes to yourconfiguration, remove the jetDirect card before performing a cold reset. if possible, print a configuration page prior to performing a cold reset. this will document current settings for later reference.
to perform a cold reset;
1, turn off the printer.
2, while pressing "go", turn the printer on. COLD RESET appears briefly on the display, then INITIALIZING appears.after a few seconds, RESTORING FACTORY SETTING appears on the display, followed by OFFLINE.the cold reset is complete.
3, press "go" to return the printer online "ready " appearson the display.

Recently upgraded to 10.7.5 on my Mac. Now my Cannon Pixma 830 will not scan. It will still print from my computer, however.

I'm sorry to hear that your Canon printer isn't scanning! This has actually happened many times for me in the past. Your printer is probably having issues and this occurred coincidentally afterwards. Canon printers seem to enjoy to have problems. Let's try to fix this.

1. Try restarting your printer. Press the power button and wait until it turns off. Then, unplug the printer for 30 seconds. Then, plug it back in. If necessary, press the power button to turn it back on. Wait a few minutes, then try scanning. If this didn't work, keep reading.

Why doesn't wireless scanning work if initiated from the PC or from the MF212w printer?


hi . I'm almost sure that the toolbox only work on USB. for network scanning there is another aplication I thin is color network scan gear

I have a canon pixma MX850. I have connected to my network. Printing works fine. When I go to scan, the printer ask to which computer. I don't understand the question, much less the solution. Ho


Many machines allow network printing but not network scanning. I think you will find that the MX850 driver and MP Navigator software simply does not support network scanning. I suggest you query Canon directly.

Copy Output all black


Janson; does this problem only occur if you're doing copying via the auto feeder, or also if you lay the paper in manually? The auto feeder uses a small glass opening to the front (or left) of the main flatbed scan area; if there is an issue with that area letting in light, an all black page would result. If you get all black with either type of scan, but regular printing still works, then you may have a dead scan element. Try scanning something to your computer or to an email account to see if normal scanning still works.

How can I email a document from xerox copy machine through my laptopp


The best way to email any document from any printer is to have a scanning program that can scan from your printer/scan/copy machine. If your printer only has printing capabilites then it is impossible to capture the printed document back to your laptop.

The first step is to check to see if your Xerox copy machine is a model that includes printing/scanning/copying capabilites.

If it does, then install the scanning program.

Once installed, scan your document, save it to a place you remember on you laptop, then email it using your favorite email program, such as hotmail or yahoo.

The KM3035 requires a second network card for network scanning. then use the scanfile utility on the client machine / server to recieve the jobs and dump in a shared folder

HOW TO SCAN FROM SCAN TO BUTTON IN THE NETWORK FROM HP 2727MFP


You need to install the HP Scan software on each and every PC the MFP should scan to. In this software, you can create targets for the "Scan To" button. But: This is only useful when scanning with the ADF, because when scanning from the flatbed, you'd need for every page to hit the "Scan To"-button, press "Scan", wait for about a minute or two until the MFP has found the appropriate PC, and wait for the scan. So network scanning is unfortunately very limited with this machine.

To scan a document to file (Scan to File), the WorkCentre must be directly connected to the workstation using a USB or parallel connection. Scan to File is not supported over an Ethernet connection.

Test page


I had the same problem and being helped by HP operator.
first take the USB cable out of your computer, then put it off and then on again...it starts to print the test page again...then after the printer stops printing, put the just printed testpage face down on the scanner(glas) and press scan manually...after the scanning(you wait till that is finnished) and then put the printer off and on again....then connect the USB cable to the computer and that will stop the printer from printing the testpage every time you startup your printer....

hope it wil solve your problem, it did for me...
