Question about Noritz Residential Heaters Tankless Water Heater N-0751M-DV-LP
This sounds like "water hammer"
You can fix this by adding an arrester to the water line. here is a link to what they look like and how they work http://www.plumbingsupply.com/waterhammerarresters.html
You may want to check you water pressure and see if its over 80 psi.
If so then your regulator needs to be adjusted or replaced. If you home does not have a regulator and the city has upped the pressure then you will need to install one. water hammer will break pipes over time and can damage that nice water heater you have.

SOURCE: Noritz not staying hot
How many faucets do you have on when this happens? Turn on more than 1 and if it still does the samt thing than I would check to see if the inlet water screen has debris in it. Valve off the unit and look at the inlet water side and theres a screeen that you should be able to remove and clean undeneith some running water and then replace. Good Luck

I called Noritz error code 16 is a overheat problem. Noritz say's to flush your coil with vinegar or CLR.
Use a small pump to recirculate the CLR or vinegar through the system for 45 minutes and flush with fresh water. This worked for me.

The problem may be the flame sensor or the control.....
Check that the flame sensor is clean and also that there is a good ground from the burner to the control....make sure that the wiring to the unit is correct polarity, and then the ground is hooked properly also...
Is it flashing a code and if so, check what the code means....

SOURCE: I have a Noritz model#
if the unit is a few years old it or if you have hard water it may be the heat exchanger or the domstic hot water sensor.

The unit is plugged up with mineral buildup from the water going through it... it will need to be cleaned internally....this is done by running an acid solution through it to clean out the mineral buildup...
Then it will work again...
