Question about Frigidaire GLGT1031C Dryer

Open Question

We need to replace the belt in our stacked frigidaire dryer. The first step is to unplug the machine, the second step is to take the back off the unit. This sounds very simple, but the back will not come off even though all screws have been removed. Any information on this?

I have a stacked Frigidaire FEZ831CA washer/dryer combo and when running the dryer it makes a very high pitched (AND LOUD) screeching sound. Any ideas as to what might be the problem? Thanks, Sean

screeching sound
Sean, Bad felt gasket body to drum, if belt drive on dryer, it could be worn and slipping, making a screech, or if not the belt, the drum may have a worn bearing on its hub allowing it to run crooked and rub where it should not.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

I have a frigidaire glet1142cs0 top load stacked washer/dryer. the dryer turns but doesn't heat. not sure how to change the fuses or the heating element. please help

UNPLUG THE MACHINE. Take the back off the dryer, usually 4 to 6 screws. On the backside of the panel you just took off should be a schematic showing where the thermo fuses are.

Take an ohm meter and check across the prongs sticking up, you may have to unplug them to get good contact. They should show 1, open, if they show 0, short. they need replaced. There are online parts companies that can help you get the right part.

It is unlikely that the element is bad, but if the thermo fuses show open, then you should be able to see the element, and replace it.

Squeaking frigidaire stacking dryer

Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication, or maybe your drum belt has slipped off of the idler arm pulley.
Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots or wear on them replace them.
If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem.
