Question about Microsoft Office 2007 Basic for PC
I had MS Office 2003 on my laptop with update patch for 2007 installed. I tried to install MS office 2007 Enterprise by update. It got the error message ''MS office 2007 entp. encountering setup error''. I tried to update thrice. But encountered same error. Therefore, I uninstalled (removed) MS office 2003 and also MS office 2007 patch installed on my laptop. And then tried to install MS Office 2007 enterprise version from the CD again. But the same error persists. May I know the solutions for this.
My laptop has MS Windows XP Prof. Ver. 2002 with Service Pack 2, V.2096 installed. It has Intel Celeron CPU 2.67GHz with 704 MB RAM.
Hi, this may not help you because I do not have the exact error you described. But here is some text from the MS website:The installation of the 2007 Microsoft Office suite Service
Pack 1 (SP1) fails with error 1935 or with error 78F. This failure occurs when
the Windows Installer encounters a reference either to a drive that no longer
exists or to a removable media device that contains no readable media. For
example, this failure may occur when the Windows Installer encounters a
reference to an empty DVD drive or to an empty CD drive. The issue is not
caused by the update design of the 2007 Microsoft Office suite Service Pack 1
issue is resolved by update 946691 for the 2007 Office system.

experience when you install the 2007 Microsoft Office suite Service
Pack 1. You must install update 946691 on you computer before you
