How to print database in vb

To Print a Database you would require to create a Report. There were many ways of creating reports in Visual Basic 6.0. Hereby I am giving you an example of Data Report.
Printing a Data Report
Printing a data report can be accomplished in one of two ways. The user can click the Print button that appears on the data report in Print Preview mode (using the Show method), or you can programmatically enable printing using the PrintReport method. If an error occurs during printing, trap it in the Error event.
Choosing to Display a Print Dialog Box
When printing a report programmatically, you have two choices: to print by displaying the Print dialog box, or by printing without displaying the dialog box.
To display the Print dialog box
  1. Add a CommandButton to a Form.
  2. In the button's Click event, place the following code.
DataReport1.PrintReport True The Print dialog box allows the user to select a printer, print to file, select a range of pages to print, and specify the number of copies to print.
Note Printers must be installed on the computer in order to present a choice of printers.

Printing Without a Dialog Box
In some cases, you may wish to print the report without user intervention. The PrintReport method also gives you the option of selecting a range of pages to print, either all, or a specified range.
To print without displaying the dialog box
  1. Add a CommandButton to a Form.
  2. In the button's Click event, place the following code:
DataReport1.PrintReport False
Or, to specify a range of pages to print, use the code below:
DataReport1.PrintReport False, rptRangeFromTo, 1, 2

Retrieving acess data which is password protected thru VB

You will need to use a connection string. But - before you can configure the string correctly, I'd need to know how the data is stored (Access, SQL, ODBC, etc). You can find examples online. Just know that you are looking for "Connection String." Here's two examples:
1. For MS Access (Jet files):
' Set up the connection string.
m_strConn = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;" & _
"Data Source=" & strDestDBPath & ";" & _
"Jet OLEDB:Engine Type=5" ' NOTE: Use Type=5 for Jet 4.x.

2. For SQL database:
g_strADOConn = "Provider=SQLOLEDB;" & _
"Data Source=SERVER_NAME;" & _
"Initial Catalog=DATABASE_NAME;" & _
"User ID=mssql_userid;" & _
"Password=mssql_password;"

Sir , we are run cystal reports in vb.net , but that time we are use any control menu like print option ,zoom option ,nextpage option etc. so that problem is control post back and blank my my reports

you have to rebind the report on every postback.

in form_load put

if (Page.IsPostBack)
{
if (Session["currentReport"] != null)
{
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = Session["currentReport"];
CrystalReportViewer1.DataBind();
}
}

and when creating your report add this line
Session["currentReport"] = myReport;

How do i use date in visual basic 6

Hi,

I am not getting your problem clearly.
If you are referring to save the input dates as date in database with the help of sql query then you need to provide hash(#) mark at the beginning and end of date values. It will resolve your problem.

Hope this helps and let me know if you are not getting the solution clearly.

Thanks.

Payroll system in DBMS. I don't know what data is to be taken.

Firstly you need to determine/state whether you are using a database application, such as Access, MtSQL or MS SQL and programming them to do create this application, or are you using a programming development tool such as Visual Studio, ASP.NET, PHP or the like, as the solution and guidance will be different for each.
In terms of the data design, you should store the data necessary to identify each employee uniquely and each data point per employee needed to calculate their payroll. You should then store the generic (applys to all employees) such as tax rates, in separate tables and call on it to calculate wages and other paystub data.
For instance, the employee first and last names and tax ID should be a sufficient unique identifier. Create a table for just employees, their names, tax ID, start date, schedule, pay rate, number of deductions, direct bank payment data, etc., and whatever else you decide you need for each employee. You can calculate their wages by multiplying their rate by their schedule and applying the appropriate tax rate and medical/witholding deductions as you go, so calculated data does not need to be stored and consume database space.
You'll likely need a separate table for common data such as tax rates, one for deductions/witholdings, one for holidays, one for vacation accrual rates, one for medical rates, etc. This data if common to employees does not need to be stored per individual, as that would cause redundant replication of data. If the employees are on an hourly rate, rather than a set salary/wage, then you'll need a table of worked hours per employee, akin to their timesheet data. If you use a timesheet/timecard, the entering and storing only the totals and keeping the physical timesheet for backup records should suffice.
Once you design and populate your database as suggested above, then it's a relatively-simple task of calculating the computed paystub data and storing the salient resulting datapoints for the record.
Consider a reporting application, such as Crystal Reports, for your printing needs, as its far easier to configure Crystal or similar product to format reports, paystubs, checks, etc., than coding these from scratch.
Hope this helps.
