SOURCE: Connect SGH-T629 to computer
ok, gonna try to find solution for all questions here so far. 1: You plug your cord into the same port on phone that your head phones and charger go into...you have to buy a cord that fits your phone on one end and has usb on other end. I found a cord for 11 cents plus $5 shipping (lol). 2: I think if you have samsung pc studio 3 (I got a free download at samsung site) you can install the most recent update and it should recognize your phone then...I have same software and same phone and it recognizes it. (however, make sure your phone is NOT connected to comp. when you install the software) Once installed, the bottom right of the window for studio 3 should say "not connected" then once you plug your cord into phone and usb port it should change to say "sgh-t629 connected". The phone has so little internal memory though that if you want any amount of music you need to get a memory card. Hope this helps.

Try this, I had a the same problem as you guys + found this on a web
forum. Quite a frustrating problem to have, It fixes the phone, but
after a while you have to do this over again. I am wishing I never
bought this phone, even though the reviews were really great.
Unplug usb cable from phone
Type *#52828378# into phone
this comes up
1 Trace setting
2 OTA type setting
3 Serial test
4 TFS reset
select 3 serial test
this comes up
1 PPP UP
2 Serial download
3 Run TCK
Select 2 Serial download
Phone will reboot.
Once rebooted, connect usb cable and pc studio will now work.

SOURCE: usb device not recognized
try connecting your phone to a USB 2.0 port.
Some older computers give this error. If you can find a newer laptop to try and plug it in it may recognize it. As far as a driver goes, with Windows XP or Vista you shouldn't need a driver disk at all. It is more like a compatibility issue than a software problem.

Switch the phone on, then connect. You should have 3 options; Mass Storage, Webcam and PictBridge. Select Mass Storage. Depending on your system on your PC will connect immediately or maybe (older model) ask for driver. Driver for mass storage is 'generic' so will install automaticaly. After that go to 'my computer' and there will be 2 (!!!) new 'drives', the first one the external card on your phone, the second one the internal drive of your phone.
