Question about Epson Stylus CX4450 All-In-One InkJet Printer
All the cartridges are brand new and so is the printer. I bought it years ago and just started using it. I haven't gotten a single page printed since opening it. I've tried restarting my computer, the printer and taking the cartrigdes out and putting them back in

Ink carts being not recognized and you say its a brand new printer?
Heres what you may want to try.
1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the usb cable from the printer
2. Press and release the ink button once you see a solid green light and solid red ink light
3. Open up the printer cover and check out where is the ink cart holder positioned
4. It should stop in the middle part of the printer, you should see an arrow or a ink out marker (ink icon with a / with it( indicating which ink cart is out or not recognized or expended. (This is a usual process on all the epson stylus photo series I had)
5. Press and release the ink button again, it should stop to the next ink cart which you are having a problem and if it doesnt then your ready to reclamp the ink carts.
Just follow your manual usually theres an on screen instructions how to manually replace or reseat the ink cartridges. If the issue persist, you may want to contact epson, ask for a warranty procedure or what you can do next for this. (Either a bad set of ink cart or a bad print head) Good luck!

if you open the lid of the printer you should have the ink slide to have you take it out.
I would unplug the printer for about 5min and then plug it back in and then it should ask you to redo it again.

common issue, the printer will still shoot blanks even if you try another ink or do several head cleanings.
i got a lot of them with that problem, but since epson prints beautiful photos, i don't mind exchanges or getting a new one.

Did you remove the cartridges when it went out of ink? If so, the printer head is clogged. Anyway, If you didn't remove the cartridges and the "a while ago" means "Long time ago", is more likely the printer head is clogged. You may need to run the "cleaning printer head" feature from the printer or replace the printer head.
Inkjet printers should be used frequently to avoid this issue.
