Usually when the program comes up, there is an About, you can click on. This shows the product key.

You may also want to use Magic Jellybean Keyfinder, and find the product key.
Weird name I know, but it DOES work.

Have used many times.

http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/

It is FREE.

SOURCE: CD rom can't read CD XP

TAKE THE CD-ROM DRIVE OUT AND REBOOT THE SYSTEM. WHEN THE SYSTEM ARRIVES AT THE GUI SCREEN, GO TO SETTINGS FROM THE START MENU, MAKE SURE THAT IT HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THE SYSTEM DEVICE MANAGER OR AT LEASE DISABLED. REBOOT SYSTEM AGAIN. CHECK MY COMPUTER ICON TO SEE IF IT IS MISSING. IF IT IS GOOD. NEXT PHYSICALLY REINSTALL THE DEVICE AS THOUGH IT IS A NEW DEVICE. REBOOT THE SYSTEM LET THE OPERATING SYSTEM DETECT THE DEVICE AND INSTALL THE SOFTWARE FOR IT. GO BACK TO MY COMPUTER AND SEE IF IT IS BACK IN THE CONFIGURATION. IF IT IS GOOD. OPEN CD ROM DRIVE PLACE THE DISK YOU ARE TRYING TO READ AND SEE IF IT DOES. IF IT DOES GOOD IF IT DOESN'T THEN YOU CD ROM IS BAD AND YOU NEED TO REPLACE IT.

SOURCE: Got following error: Load Error! Press any key to reboot

This problem is indeed caused by a faulty MBR but there are solutions other than zero-filling the drive.
If you can get access to a RipLinux CD there is a little utility called Testdisk that will write a new MBR code to the first block of the drive. I just did this on a Sony PCG-K15 this morning (after cloning the drive just to be safe) that was giving the same error of "LOAD ERROR- Press any key to reboot" and it worked like a charm. The machine booted right up.
Hope this helps...

In doing a system restore i managed to wipe out windows in my el1852w ..now the screen says, install windows..X Windowscould not complete the installation.to install windows on this computer restart...

As PC starts watch screen for message "to enter setup press del" or similar. (press F!, press F2, press F12).Power down the PC and then power it back up. Be ready to press the KEY to enter setup while message is on screen. If you do not see the "enter setup" try holding the delete key as machine powers up.
Then repeat while holding F1 key etc. Once you enter setup (CMOS SETUP) find the boot settings and select CD as first boot drive. Put your full install CD in the CD drive have the license code ready. Example; AB123-1RD5C-XP94D-MN47G-LRIPQ. Your key will be on the CD sleeve or license sticker on PC. With install CD in drive power PC up. The PC should boot from the install CD. Do a full install on C drive. This should format your C drive erasing everything on drive C. Format with NTFS (new technology file system). During install the PC will restart a few times. At one point it will require you to type in license code. About half way thru install you will be instructed to remove all disks from drives, at this point you enter setup (CMOS) again and change from boot from CD as first choice TO boot from HD and second choice boot from CD. If you can not complete install you may have a hardware problem. GIVE plenty of time for each install step. Install may appear to have stopped but it will continue when it has completed that step.

I cant install window 7 in lenovo laptop having no os at all.

Put in the Windows 7 DVD in the DVD ROM.
Turn off the laptop completely.
Turn on the laptop again and start hitting the F12 key continuously until you see the boot menu.
Highlight CD/DVD option using the arrow keys.
Press enter.
As soon as you get the message "press any key to boot from CD" then quickly press any key on the keyboard.
(Recommended when highlight CD/DVD then keep on tapping the enter key)
Stop pressing any key when get the message windows setup or loading files.
Select the English language and the country.
Click install now.
Click custom advanced.
Highlight the partition which should have the max size for ex: 320GB or so.
Click on the drive options at the bottom.
Click on format and the hour glass would come up for few seconds.
Then click on Next.
It will install complete Windows 7 in the computer and while installation computer will restart automatically.
Idle time of Windows installation is 39mins but it can get complete in more or less time depending upon the hardware configuration of the computer.
Then once the installation will be done just follow the instructions on the screen to create new user account and choose recommended settings.

I WANT TO FORMAT MY TOSHIBA PORTEGE 7200CT LAPTOP TO WINDOW XP.HOWEVER,I DO NOT KNOW TO TO FORMAT

The instructions for this procedure are quite involved if you are talking about formatting and reinstalling the laptop operating system software. You need to have these things:
A Legitimate copy of the Operating system software on an official microsoft release CD that is bootable. Then you go to the bios in the startup usually by pressing the delete key while laptop is booting. then go to the boot proiority list and make sure the cd drawer is in the first option. Reboot the computer and then when the option to boot from cd comes up, press any key and it will boot from the cd.
Once the installation options appear, you need to select the hard disk to use and then select the format and install Windows XP. Select format using NTFS filing system and then the process starts to format the drive and install the file need to complete setup.
Once the GUI portion of set up installs and you have logged in for the first time, don't forget to change the boot priority back to the hard disk!
Hope this helps :D

I just bought an little Hannspree SN10E288 with Linux. I can not install XP because all the partitions are unknown for Windows. What can I do for it.

Try the following, You need a bootable Windows CD/DVD for this
(1)Set your BIOS setting to boot from CD/DVD ROM first (before the Hard Disk or any other media)
(2)In order to set this priority resart your computer and as the first any information appears on screen start pressing "F2" and "DEL" keys swiftly and alternatively. A new screen appears....
(3)Look for "boot priority" and take the CD/DVD drive on top of the list. You need to experiment this a little because every PC BIOS has a different format to make these settings
(4) Insert your bootable Windows CD/DVD in your computer and boot from it.
(5)You will be asked to Press any key to boot from CD.......
(6)Press any key
(7)The Windows installation screen will appear.
(8)In the setup carefully select delete and select the partition where you want to install Windows.
You should have adequate space for Windows.
(9) Be careful do not touch the partition where the Linux is installed
(10) Once you have deleted the partition carefully Format it or make a Quick format.
(11)After that your Windows installation should start.
The rest is very intuitive......
Good luck!

Reformatting pc

what you need to do is put the XP cd in the cd or dvd drive first, then, when the pc is booting up press either F2 or Del depending on bios and the cmos setting screen will appear. Go to advanced cmos settings and the top line normal reads 'first boot device, this will be set at HDD or hard disk, this needs to be changed to cdrom. When you have changed it, save settings and exit, the system will now reboot and an option to boot from cd screen will appear, you then press Enter to boot from cd then follow the instructions to format or install windows.
