Question about Acer Aspire 7750 AS7750-6458 17.3" Notebook Computer
I restored it to original condition via a partition that holds a factory copy of the operating system after system restore and dvd backup disks would not run. It was very hard to boot up. Malwarebytes, windows defender online and offline didn't help then or now. The problems followed after factory restore. Any ideas? Best, Grant (this all happened after running dvd movie files from my bro).
Sounds like your bros video corrupted your files. I back up all my PC files with an online service. You can get free backup for your PC here http://goo.gl/3VahX. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: Acer Aspire 5100 won't system restore
If you created your system restore CDs when you purchased the system, insert your first CD into the CD drive and boot your computer. This will restore your computer to factory settings. ALL DATA WILL BE LOST.

SOURCE: restore factory settings
there are 2 ways for doing this
1) Fast and easy without backup disk just do this
Acer: When you turn on the laptop and see the Acer logo screen, hold the ALT key and press the F10 key (you need to do this before the Acer logo disappears).
2) If the method above doesnt work u can do it thru backup disk u have got when u purchased ur laptop u shud have made it thru Erecovery software.
Pls rate me FIXYA for help !

SOURCE: In my Acer Aspire One, need eRecovery info..
yes, it will reformat and install everything you came with new, I own one and have had to recover it twice, but never use another manufacturers os disk on anything but the intended unit as it can cause conflicts or serious ir recoverable harm to the unit.

You can start the Recovery from outside windows by holding down the ALT key and tapping F10 repeatedly
on startup. When the recovery loads you will be prompted for a password.
This should have been set by the customer if they have been into the Acer Recovery Management software previously.
If they have forgotten the password or you wish to clear the password you need to boot off the recovery disk that should have been created.
More Information
From the Acer toolbar at the top of the desktop click on the disk icon
Setup a password if requested.
After clicking on setup you need to click Create Password to continue.
Create a password and add a password hint (strongly recommended).
You now have the option of restoring from a previous Windows Vista backup or you can start the Acer recovery process.
The recovery is started by clicking Restore at the bottom of the window.
Further types of recovery are now presented.
Choose Restore system to factory default if you wish to run the hard drive based recovery and return your Acer computer back to it's original factory default state.
Note: The factory default recovery will wipe ALL data from the computer so ensure important data has been saved to disk before proceeding.
Enter the password that was previously set.
Confirm you wish to run the recovery process.
After confirming you wish to run the recovery process the computer will restart and restore all the original files
Complete the Out of Box Experience when prompted
After a couple of restarts the computer will run through restoring the preinstalled software that came with your computer and then be ready to use
hope this helps
