Question about KitchenAid K45SS Classic Stand Mixer
I think there is to much space between the bottom of the dough hook and the mixing bowl.
This sounds like an issue of beater to bowl adjustment, which can come out of alignment naturally over time and with use of the machine.
Your Use and Care Guide will cover the "beater to bowl adjustment," which you can do at home in a few minutes with a flathead screwdriver.
If you are seeing an abundance of dry ingredients being left at the bottom of the bowl, I would suggest looking into this adjustment.

Sorry but this is not possible on this model (can not be adjusted) And just to let you know it is normal for the dough hook to sit higher then the other attachments!
