Question about Nintendo 64 Console

Nintendo 64 audio video problem, the screen goes similar to losing signal on an antenna channel

Originally i thought i had a problem with Super Smash Bros but then i changed the game and i still saw the flash of colors that would appear about every 2 minutes. I uses a different AV cable and still saw it so there is something wrong with the console or the power source but i don't have an extra power cable.

Well it might be something wrong with the console it's self the CPU chips might be causing the problem or and the power supply piece inside of the console that the ac adapter goes into might be causing it it could be old age then if you can put a picture up on fixya.com then

SOURCE: SNES doesn't display?

The CIC chip, also known as lock out chip, may have gone bad. Here is a quote from a site I found.

"Every SNES control deck has a regional lockout chip (known as a CIC), as does every original SNES game cartridge. Before a game is loaded, the console will attempt to communicate with the CIC chip on the game cartridge. If the CIC chip doesn't respond or does not correspond with the consoles CIC, the console won't load the game. In most cases, a black screen is displayed."

Hi I'm having a problem with my Nintendo 64, it won't play the game. I just recently bought Super Mario 64 at a yard sale, and when i got home it doesn't work. I unplug and plug everything,...

Well It might be the gamepack but the only way to test it out is to try it one a different N64 console to see if you have any luck if it works somewheres else than your N64 console has an internal problem of it 0 luck on something else than Its a fake gamepack because the old consoles will reject fake game packs then.

When we turn on tv the nintendo screen does show up

There are a couple things this could be... check:

Is the tv set to the correct channel or "input"?

Is your game clean? (use rubbing alcohol on a q-tip to wipe the gold bars on the inside of the game)

Do you have a bad AV cord? (I think you can find new ones on ebay or potentially a vintage video games store that sells super nintendo games, they usually are willing to test it in store with a new cord).

Hope this helps!

Says unusable signal when trying to hookup my Nintendo 64.

Here are a couple of things to try. Go into the menu and make sure that you have the "ANTENNA" selected instead of "CABLE". Also make sure that the channel that you are using (3 or 4) is programmed into the memory of the tv. If not, use "auto program" in the menu to program the channels.

These newer tv's are not the same as older tv's. If none of that works, put a antenna amp on the output of the nintendo and then plug it into the tv. This should fix it.
