Poor red color quality with Epson photo R2400

I am using Photoshop CS4, a MacPro with 30 inch monitor, Eye-One monitor calibration, Epson photo R2400 printer with all of the profiles and every time I try to print a photograph (taken with a Nikon D300 in RAW) anything in the print that is red looks very pink, despite trying many different combinations of gama, saturations etc. What else could be the problem?

In this case what i would request u to do is....... Take out both the catridges from the Printer......... Take 2 Paper Towels one should be wet with Luke warm water and the other one should be dry........... Take the Colour catridge first turn it upside down and u will see a small copper plate on the catridge from where the ink comes out....... Place the wet paper towel using ur thumb on the Copper plate and press it a lit bit for 10 Seconds...... Now remove it and see whether u see any ink on the paper towel.......... U should see some ink on it now place the dry paper towel on the ink catridge in the same way........ Now do the same procedure again.......... Do the same procedure twice on the Black Catridge................. Now take the dry paper towel and turn the direction of the cartridge so that u can see a Copper plate on it with small boxes just clean that copper plate with the Dry Paper Towel.......... Know insert both the catridges inside the Printer......... Now it should work if still it doesnt work........... This can be a problem with the camera itself...........

Printouts are almost with no colors. The printing is too fast. What can be wrong?

Sounds like your printer is printing in draft mode. I have photoshop and the R2400. When I click on Print with Preview in Photoshop I get a window that sets the print size and so on. Then I get a window that picks the printer so I choose R2400 and the click on the properties button to get the R2400 interface. At that point I choose "Best Photo" to tell it to print at the highest quality.

Print and screen color matching is HORRIBLY difficult. It could be a case of old ink, humid air, poor calibration, or different qualities of paper (when comparing two prints).

For best, most consistent products, go to a professional photo finisher/print shop.

Calibrating monitor may help. Are you sure that what you see on the monitor is e.g grey (only K?) or is it mixed. If you print 100m100y is this tomato red? Are you working in RGB or in CMYK?

Epson R2400 too red

i think you have a corrupted driver- you have to uninstall driver first

1. Double click on the MAC HARD DRIVE.
2. Double click on the LIBRARY folder.
3. Double click on the PRINTERS folder.
4. Drag the EPSON folder to the trash can.

Go to print and fax and delete the printer name as well

Restart the Mac. (You do not need to empty the trash.)
If you have not done so already, please follow the steps below to download the latest driver for your printer in OSX:

1. Go to the following website: http://support.epson.com
2. Under the PRINTERS heading select INK JETS and then the Stylus Photo R2400.
3. Under the DRIVERS & DOWNLOADS section select MACINTOSH.
4. Select and download the following file for your operating system

which mac are you using? tiger ot leopard? intel core or powerpc?

Photoshop and the R1800

I had the same problem and read everything I could find about it. Finally after tinkering around, I discovered that printing everything using "Photo Enhance" setting produced the best pictures. Also, I use a calibrated monitor and print through Photoshop Elements 5. Lots of Luck! Cyndy
