Full screen not displayed when viewing shot and playback

You mean that the image you take and playback is in 4:3 ratio. The default settings is 4:3. However, if you want to take widescreen (16:9 full LCD) images, just change the Image Size setting in the menu to 16:9 L (4288x2416 pixels) or 16:9 S (1920x1080 pixels). See the user manual page 30.

How to turn off "highlight" image display on D-80

Hi there,
This happens when you accidentally press the up or down button when viewing images on the playback. If you press up or down a few times it goes to a screen that looks like normal playback but with the flashing highlights.
All you need to do is press up or down until it goes back to the normal screen.
Hope that helps!

SLIDESHOW function

You can play the images in your camera on a TV or save them to videotape by connecting the camera with the bundled Audio/Video cable. Power up the camera in the PLAYBACK Mode, press the OK/MENU button to open the menu and using the arrow keys toggle up to begin the SLIDESHOW. You can even change the playback format in the MODE MENU. Press the OK/MENU button and using the right arrow key select the MODE MENU. FADER - The images are sequenced via a lap dissolve. ZOOM - The images are sequenced by zooming in to black and zooming out from black.
