To hard reset a tablet, hold the power button down until it shuts off then press it to turn back on. Should take about 5 - 10 seconds for the device to power off.

either you will have to hack it or wait for a while till it resets

i see that you are using a universal power adapter, do you have the voltage set to the proper voltage that the unit requires?

I have one of those radioshack universal power adapters.

Based on the fact that it says that it can charge via USB, you would need to have it set to 5 volts. if you have it set to anything different, you are risking damaging the unit.

Try a different power adapter as an alternate step. If that doesnt work, come back and I will try to help you further.

Yes it will work again but the crack will still be there.
