Question about Projection Televisions

60 in Sony Wega turns off...

THANK YOU for your help. Unfortunately i have no idea where or how to start with the information you gave me. Could you put it in layman's terms? My exact TV was not listed, but it looks like the one that I selected.

Sony Wega SXRD # KDS-R60BR1 its a 60 in and built feb 2006. We have never moved it since it was delivered to our home.

This is my 1st time on this site. I posted that i have the same problem, but what really happens is more like what you listed.

My tv will stay on 1-2min and then shut off for 30 seconds while the indicator light blinks continuously (55 times) and then the tv turns back on, and the vicious cycle repeats itself. We spent $4000 on this thinking that it would last a LONG time.

Please help!

The AKB circuit is not satisfied with the CRTs cathode current and keeps the CRT blanked. The warmer it gets, the more likely the circuit is to allow the picture to come on.

AlSo you need to check the Capacitor On PS unit, because the capacitor can dry ( electrolit liquid ) you can try to replace all capacitor High voltage On ps unit you TV

You can do it with the help of service manual . Else you need to call technican to check the circuit .

Hi my 60in sony Wega has a problem...when i turn it on its all good...then after 10 sec? it turns Off...then the red light flashers 4 times...Can you please help

Have you had any problems with the display lately, such as color bleed, blue dots, or other anomalities or non standard behavior? If you have chances are you have a bad optical unit. Sony had a problem with their TFT panels throughout the past ten years. Your model is one of the unfortunate units to experience the problem. Unfortunately any remeidies are long gone. Here is an excellent website which will explain the problem and perhaps what your remedies may be.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great repair.
