No warm or heated mist

i pushed the button, the signal shows the heat feature on, but the heat is still the exact same temp as when it is off. it's cooling my room. and the percentage is still at 25% even though its been on for 2 hours..? 
is this machine worth the extra money for these features if they don't work? or am i doing something wrong?
