The Orange wire for the reversing valve and used with a Heat Pump
If you have a heat pump, then yes. If you have a gas furnace then no. If you have a HP and the reversing valve is not connected, then you might just be using the emergency electric heat strips. :-o

Burner lites but goes out after 2 or 3 min.

the white rodgers gas control needs to be replaced;
the way it works is: the thermocouple opens the pilot gas circuit and, holds it open
when it heats up by creating a magnetic field in the gas control then: when you turn
the knob on the gas control to "on" a valve inside the gas valve opens the main gas circuit and, electricity supplied by your RV keeps it open.
the main gas coil inside the gas valve is defective and, can not hold the main gas circuit to the burner open anymore.

The oven burner will not ignite.

Because the glowbar is glowing does not necessarily make it good.
Turn off the gas to the stove. Remove the oven racks. Remove the bottom oven pan. Remove the flame spreader. This gives you access to the glow bar and gas valve.
Put a clamp on amp meter around one wire of the glowbar. Turn the oven control on to BAKE.
If the glowbar reads 3 amps or less, replace the glowbar ignitor.
If the glowbar reads good, check the burner tube for a white ash buildup. It can be cleaned with a wire brush. Look closely near the glowbar section of the burner.
Check all the wire connections for the gas valve.
If the glowbar is good and the ash deposits are gone and the oven still will not ignite, the next step is to replace the gas safety valve.

How to replace heating element Maytag Performa gas dryer pyg2300aww?

Your model number indicates a gas dryer. It does not have a heating element. It has a glowbar igniter,a flame sensor and a gas valve. Either the glowbar igniter is bad or the flame sensor or the gas valve coils or the thermal fuse.

GE Glowbar

The following link explains how to replace a glowbar and how to measure them:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r401858-replacing_oven_igniter_gas_range

The first thing you need to do is determine which type of glowbar igniter you have. The current tolerances are different on each one. If you take a current reading and it is not within the prescribed range, replace the igniter (even if it is glowing). The easiest and preferred method measurement is to use an amprobe type multimeter and clip it to a single wire from the igniter.

Most commonly, the igniter, rather than a gas valve, goes bad after periods of use. In particular, the bake igniter because it gets used more often. In addition, your range should have a separate igniter for the broil manifold as well. Since most home owner's do not own an amprobe meter, you can swap broil and bake igniters to see if the symptoms change. If the symptom moves to the broil manifold, then you know you have a bad igniter. If the symptoms stay the same and then you need to consider the option that you may have a gas safety valve issue. Let me know what you find. I hope you find this information helpful.

PS I'm only assuming this is a bake manifold problem, as you did not say which one you were having problems with. This is the more common failed component, however, because it gets used more frequently.
