I am thingking of getting a Thunder K8WE (S2895)

Hi!

Of course it can run Windows Xp 32 bit. The computer specification is much higher for the operating system to run and there can be no problem for it.

About the hard drive, it depends upon it RPM (Rotate Per Minute) and it's data access time. I think SATA drive is good to use.

Hope it helps..

Thank you for reaching Fixya.

HOW CAN I TELL IF IT IS EQUAL TO A P 4

A motherboard is not equal to a CPU. However, if you're wondering if it is compatible, you can check the CPU compatability chart ... hang on, I'll get it.

Negative, it does not work with a P4. It uses AMD chips, specifically:
AMD Athlon XP/Athlon/Duron CPU
Socket A

I have problem about ram

If the manual says this motherboard support up to 1 GB RAM, you cannot put 2 GB. You can put 2x 512 GB RAM or 1GB RAM
Also try to upgrade your bios, maybe a better bios version supports more than 1 GB RAM.

It may be possible that the memory that you are trying to use may not be completly compatible with the architecture of the motherboard, if you are using Win XP SP2 you will need a minimum of 512 Mb mem otherwise it will run slowly (especially if running norton AV or Mcafee AV)

It would be a good Idea to buy replacement memory, as the compatibility of the memory you are trying to use is in question.

Kingston memory have a "configurator" which ensures that you get the correct memory for their board, and their memory has a lifetime warranty.

Unable to install Windows xp

If you can afford it i'd look at trying another stick of 256 or a new 512 stick, XP doesn't really like anything under 512 and it pretty much won't run at all with 128, so if you can get it cheaply try that first if that doesn't fix it let me know
